Jesus

"Jesus is the master of compassion. Selflessness. Purity of heart. Ultimate Goodness. If everyone did what Jesus taught, everyone would be illumined. But who is willing to do this?" " The Lords Prayer is a good prayer to say. This is very powerful. Listen to what you are really saying. You are surrendering everything to God. With humility. With love.

The Kingdom of God is all-pervading perfection. Omniscient love. Compassion. Benevolence. You are forgiving others. You are scrutinizing your actions in light of The Supreme. So you will not create future suffering. Repercussions. Therefore you are moving forward in your unfoldment. Joy ensues." Robert Adams The Lessons. The Garden Talks Robertadamsinfinityinstitute.org

Love Is Your Origin

Love is the nature of the universe. It is a never ending, all-surrounding, all consuming power that is stronger than anything else in existence.
Because it is the core of true existence. It is from this that happiness emanates. Life flourishes expands, gives. It blossoms. Emanates fragrance that brings joy to the soul. It is the process of a flower. Gentle. Beautiful. Exquisite.

This is the journey of your return to the conscious awareness of your true nature.

Anything other than this is not of Truth. Therefore, the process is twofold. You wish to return to thr ever- present Substratum of your existence. The true, unchanging foundation of your being. To experience this Reality.
On a conscious level.

There is no way around this. There is no substitute. There is no awakening without it. No one has ever become illumined to their true Self without love. No matter who you are. No matter what you are doing.

The love that causes the earth to remain intact in spite of mans vile inhumanity to man. In spite of all the wars and abuses that have taken place on it. The love that causes the sun to rise fresh every single day. That gives a new morning to all, regardless of their past. The love that causes one to give for another's happiness. Beyond explanation. The love that is beyond this world.
This is the love of the moment. The moment is now. Robert Adams Happiness This Moment

Seven Things to Do To Have A Wonderful New Year

The Robert Adams Institute Class Series

“These things allow you to rise above the pull of this world. Do them every day. The appearance of depression, fear, anger, resentments, worry will dissolve into the Truth of who You really are. Suffering subsides. The best time is the first moment upon awakening, and immediately prior to going to sleep at night.”

“It is entirely up to you to completely change your life for the better. To surrender you bad habits to God. To forgive and make peace with others. To rise above the suffering of this world. It is a gentle awakening. The substratum of life will reveal itself to you. The unchanging reality of harmony, peace, compassion, bliss. But you must utilize the power of your free will to engage in this unfoldment. Not by brushing people off, feeling superior, memorizing spiritual terminologies, trying to be ‘unattached’, not talking. But by becoming a living conduit of loving kindness in this world, as you humbly dive deeper and deeper into God each day. In the meantime, live each day in this world as we have discussed, spread sunshine to all you meet. Be very honest with yourself. The saints and sages are among us. They never leave. They will help you.” Robert Adams

2020: “Create a Life Bright and Shining”

Introduction to the Daily Guidance of Robert Adams

Welcome to the Pure Form extemporaneous, over 800 Dialogues of beloved sage, Robert Adams. The power to transcend, uplift, transform, and to be a conduit of peace while unfolding, in our environment, our ‘pre-ordained place in this life’ defines an essential component of Robert Adams Teaching on true unfoldment. Never saying a harsh word, yet remaining in crystal clarity in uncompromised foundation, he emphasizes gentle correction of the true meaning of spiritual terminologies, self scrutinization, behavior and involvement in activities in this world in order to ‘honestly progress’. His famed, deeply palpable peace ‘that passeth understanding’, melds innocent playfulness with stunningly supernal perceptions of each soul, currently guiding thousands of ‘sincere aspirants’ through life, feet firmly placed on classic spiritual ethical wisdom. Love to you.

“How to live? Live by the Golden Rule. Do to others what you want others to do to you. Create a life bright and shining. Create peace wherever you are, with whomever you are with.” Robert Adams

Sharing only his own personal experience, the gentle sage definitively copyrighted his works in the tradition of preservation of purity and transmission solely through his Institute, teaching only with his daughter, answering to inquiries on his daily life instructives throughout over eight hundred lesson Dialogues. His rare truth-ranging from beginning introductory pure guidance, to the deepest of ecstatic mystical experiences - naturally echo the purity, power and simple daily steps to daily anchor one ‘above the pull of this world’. Solidly rooted in the tradition of the ancient way in modern day, the sole “Westerner” revered globally as a true teacher of Illumination, his traditional, contemporary suburban family life offers a rare, beautifully uncompromised path to daily living in clear foundation, honoring personal responsibilities as sacred.

Many people are surprised to notice the power they have within to transcend and direct their moods, actions, thoughts and level of being affected by outer circumstances, in a culture conditioned to ‘face reality’- yet whose reality are we facing? We are offered the choice: this world of ‘toil and trouble’, or the supernal peace, harmony and compassion that is the unchanging substratum behind the temporal, waiting to permeate our daily circumstances, suffering and surprise events with the solidity of the joy of God, The Supreme.

“Happiness is your True Nature. However, you cannot simply go on harming others, having tempers, gossiping, creating incoming repercussions, and say “I am happy!” You must surrender all of this with humility and love, to be free.” Robert Adams

We Create a New 2020.

In simple ways, we feel this disruption of suffering the sage refers to when we have a direct experience of the glorious Eternal within us, surrendering to the peace, compassion, love omniscient that remains unchanging within us- guiding us in practical life choices. Worry is not as appealing, we have no attraction to ‘those things that are vile, harm any living being, are contrary to spiritual laws."
“One who is touched by God has no attraction to take drugs, hurt others, cause suffering.” Robert Adams

Now, the things that used to hurt or disturb our day, pass over us insignificantly as we remain in  warm, deep peace, well-being, rather than an ‘unattached vacuousness”. This peace, loveliness, fills us “as a delight from head to toe”. (Robert Adams SOH) This spiritual insulation becomes stronger and stronger, enabling us to ‘sail through this life’, (Robert Adams SOH) utilizing our gifts, talents and love, “to alleviate the suffering of others”, while surrendering to the holiness and purity of heart within. Instead of being somber, withdrawn, pompous, we are a true light to others. This is the result of re-organizing our days to implement the beautiful, holy attunements, practices that lift us above this world. As a foundational crystalline guideline to general lifestyle, decision making, relationships, awaken joy and harmony.

"Follow the Golden Rule. The Yamas and Niyamas. These are powerful Truths. The Beatitudes. This will guide you. Lift you above this world. You will cease creating confusing repercussions. Suffering subsides."
“If the end result of Illumination is love, compassion and humility, what if we were to do this now?” Robert Adams

Why Love, Compassion, Humility?

“People ask me why I speak so much about love, compassion and humility? What do you think your true nature is? Many people have been on the so called spiritual path for a long time and they do not seem to be making much progress. It is because your compassion is not big enough. If you wish to know someone’s true spiritual stature, ask them to go out of their way to do something for someone else without getting anything in return. Those who have truly been touched by God, feel pulled to help others, to make life easier for people. There is no question about this. By doing this, you are simply reflecting your true Nature; love, compassion, humility. You can have fun, be responsible for others, have a light heart. But you must try to remember to remember- to do these things each day. To immerse yourself in eternal Truth.”
Robert Adams

And so we begin anew. Together. In peace. Rising above being despondent by the daily depletions, sad events, suffering in this world. This is a simple art of identifying with That which is your true nature, really feeling this identification authentically as the truth, and then emanating this to others. “Spread sunshine to all you meet.”

Seven Things to Do to Have a Wonderful New Year!

Guidance from Robert Adams - The Robert Adams Studentship Classes

Morning Light

1. Prepare a powerful morning program of joyful/happy ‘practices’ or ‘devotions’ that are personally tailored to your personality, (good habits/tendencies) samskaras, that opens your heart.’ Robert Adams advises us to create a beautiful place that is utilized only for this purpose of pondering, prayer, meditations.. Candles, flowers and music elevate the atmosphere.

“Do not stop until your feel the presence of the peace that passeth understanding. This will become a very powerful place. It will lift you up immediately.” Robert Adams

2. Practice the Robert Adams Meditations

“The Sage in the Heart Meditation. The I AM Meditation. Try to do this every morning and evening. This will align your human consciousness with Truth. Pray for others. This creates selflessness. Pray for yourself. Pray to God and He will help you. Never believe that you are above this.” Robert Adams

3. Arise Before the Sun Rises

It is no coincidence that globally, all hermitages, ashrams, temples, convents, monasteries, rise before the rest of the world. They engage in beautiful ceremonies, prayers, meditations, singing. The world affects them differently, as from a higher vantage point of solid immersion in Truth, in understanding. "Do not identify with 'your' problems as 'you'. Instead, go within, then you will be guided to take action." Robert Adams

Student Sharing

“I was amazed at how I felt as if I had been meditating all day, like a cloud in peace and confidence after waking up to music before the sun and doing these practices every morning. I was called ‘high strung’, everything affected me. I felt everything amplified. So it was upsetting. I now utilized this energy sensitivity for going into the divine every morning-as a test I did the whole thing for forty-five minutes before work and before bed. I can’t describe the difference. I felt like I was in another world, where I was looking from a beautiful peaceful place, yet I was more alert, engaged and clear headed than ever. True. I think I directed this sensitive energy into a powerful place and it affected my whole system.” Larissa Miller Lesson Student Santa Barbara Ca.

4. Nature, Exercise, Walking Outside in the Fresh Air

“Go outside into the peaceful beauty of nature everyday if you can. Look at the ocean, the mountains, feed the birds. Meditate outside if you can sometimes.” Robert Adams

Robert Adams walked for miles each morning at sunrise. He often climbed a large scenic hill in his neighborhood, walking for miles again in the evening, often taking his beloved family dog Dimitri with him, tenderly carrying him in his arms for blocks around the symphony concert park in front of his later home, when his own body had become prone to illness. His children often walked-ran for miles each morning together at sunrise.
Running in the fresh morning air for blocks, walking in nature whenever possible, all have been proven to not only activate endorphins that release the natural happy feelings of the human physiology, but acts to dramatically lessen depression and lethargic tendencies, the illusion of hopelessness, and minor health issues. This frees us from the confusion of the temporal human condition into a clarity of purpose by experiencing a direct alignment and illumination within.

5. Selfless Service. Alleviating the Suffering of Others

“In the West, many people think spirituality is memorizing a lot of terminologies, going to retreats, listening to different speakers. Yet they remain the same. They have the same mean habits. Unhappiness, selfishness. They do not know what to do with themselves. They live only for themselves. They think about themselves all day. The more you surrender your bad habits, the more good results will ensue. Therefore, when you forget yourself and help others, alleviate the suffering of others, something happens. You have changed the world, in a sense. You have done something holy. Compassion naturally flows through you. You are lifted up into ultimate reality. For compassion is your true nature.

Selflessly serving others is not separate from illumination. From your sadhana- spiritual practices. This is your sadhana. You serve God in other people. This brings holiness. You have risen above this world. Above mortal enslavement.  Therefore, you visit the lonely, the sick, you feed the hungry, you drive a housebound person, you save animals if you can. You must be of service in order to unfold. I am not speaking of serving someone who gives you credit, or performing your everyday duties. I am speaking of course, of alleviating the suffering of others because it is natural. It is a joy. Do not look for thankfulness. For a reward. Many people are ungrateful. This has nothing to do with you. Your expansion.

As you are unfolding, you find that you have no other choice but to help those that are suffering. Do not become isolated, self-absorbed. Do not use spiritual terminologies to excuse selfishness. This is not a mind game- we wish to be a living conduit of compassion. Therefore, this is why we say, as you are unfolding, spread sunshine to all you meet. Smile with all your heart. This brings joy to all. You have made the world better for being here. Observe your reaction to going out of your way for others. Remember, I am calling you to a higher vision. This makes the moment holy. This is of great importance.” Robert Adams

Simple offerings such as packing food, blanket and socks, or gift packs for the homeless shelters, volunteering to nurture or walk pets impounded awaiting adoption, befriending the elder and isolated, serving food at shelters, protecting children. Robert Adams and his daughter regularly give to children and counseled in hospice homes.

“Many seekers take and take but rarely give back. Always give something back. You must have a great benevolence.” Robert Adams

6. Take Care of Someone Other Than Yourself Every Day

“Do not live only for yourself. Take care of someone else. Many seekers say “Me, me, me, when will I become illumined?” They only do what feels good to them. The world says to put yourself number one. But I say put yourself second and others number one. What do I mean by this? The path to illumination, so to speak, does not occur in your mind. Your mind says "I think this, I feel this, I want this." But when you put the 'I' aside and surrender to the heart, the Heart of God, you will find that wonderful things begin to spontaneously occur.

You are here because of karma. Your actions have repercussions. Your choices create your future experience here on earth. It is all up to you. Therefore, when you expand yourself to dedicate your actions, your choices to take care of others, you naturally unfold. You change for the better. You get out of your head, your debates, your conceptions. Arise. Transcend the world. Transcend your mind. As God takes care of you, take care of someone else. Gently. With great heart. Take loving care of a child. Take care of animals. Take responsibility for other people. Only then can you expand beyond yourself.”             Robert Adams

"Be very honest with yourself. Many seekers become stagnant, lethargic. They do not develop their gifts, their talents, their dharma. They do not contribute to the world. Many simply discuss spiritual terminologies and labels. But what are you doing for others? For the suffering in this world? This is a wonderful opportunity to utilize this lifetime to be a living conduit of love, compassion, humility. Every action counts. It becomes a part of you. Selflessness is very important. Not as a lecture. Not as a concept. But as a joy. A delight. An expression of your Self. Therefore take care of children, animals." Robert Adams

7. Reconciliation and Forgiveness

“Forgive everyone. Forgive yourself. This does not mean to accept vile actions. To be abused by others. This is erroneous. You simply do not culture hate. You do not gossip. You do not hold resentment. You surrender it all, the whole thing, to God. And you bless them. Now this sounds very simple. However, this is a very powerful practice. You are held in karmic bonds with those you do not forgive. On this earth, you are under the law of karma. No matter how much you think you may have gotten even with someone or told someone off, you are simply entwining yourself in the chaotic repercussions of your actions. You are continuing the repercussions. You are starting a new action.
When you forgive them in your heart, surrender it up. Completely. You are free” Robert Adams

In the start of the new year, practical integration of the reality of integral forgiveness, for many people, changes everything.  A teenage Lesson Student of Robert Adams has been deeply applying the lessons enthusiastically. He shared with us his experience of literally applying the dialogue of forgiveness, described below:

He and a group of teens at school had been having a war of words through email messages, many containing adolescent insults and arguments. This had gone on for two years. He would often interrupt family and social activities at all hours to see what they wrote to/about him. One weekend he spent the entire morning of Saturday and Sunday pondering the lessons and practicing the Sage in the Heart meditation with his family. Chanting.  Without double guessing himself, he suddenly texted his peers. “I forgive you.” There was silence. No response. One boy then asked him what he meant. Another mocked him. Silence. He repeated his message. “I forgive you.” There were no more exchanges. He felt free for the first time since the ‘war’ began. A weight had been removed from his shoulders. When seeing them at school he waved and walked by. The hostility of the game had dissolved. One boy was a ‘churchgoer’, and two weeks later also said “I forgive you.” The boys waved at one another or ignored one another for the rest of the school year. He never said a word of ill will about them. “I realize forgiveness is a force, not dumb weakness.” the boy commented to his parents.

In this new year, let us all apply this forgiveness, freeing ourselves from the illusionary chains of self-rationalization, denial and belief in ‘winning’to really win, in loving freedom. As Robert Adams emanates in bright shining clarity; let us extrapolate the essence of forgiveness on both the temporal earthly and supernal response, in which we continue to rise. Reconciliation. Let us ponder a myriad of the most beautiful transmissions of Robert Adams;

“This is compassion. Reconciling yourself with the whole universe, all of the kingdoms, animals. We have to have a great compassion for the flowers, vegetation, everything that exists. This is important. Ponder this. Some of us wonder why we have been on this path for a long time and we do not seem to make much progress.
It is because your compassion is not big enough. As Consciousness you have become the epitome of compassion. Rejoice! "  Robert Adams

"It behooves you to reconcile yourself with everyone in this lifetime. To create peace where there is none. The world will continue on. However, you will experience the result of your actions. If you create peace, peace permeates your life. Unfoldment occurs naturally. For you live in Truth. This is

why the Bible says to go and reconcile yourself with your brother before you go to the alter. This is how you live in Truth rather than talking about it. It is easy to say "I am a student of so and so". But who is willing to reconcile themselves with all of life? Thus you are freed from much suffering".

Daily Om - Madisyn Taylor

To Reflect the Moon and the Stars

Student: Are. you saying that it is the Grace that flows form The Silence that transforms us?
Robert: Oh yes, true. Grace is already there. You simply have to be quiet enough to pick it up. When your mind is noisy, you pick up the vibration of the world. Just like with a pool of water. When the water is still, it reflects the moon and the stars. But when the water is noisy, it cannot do that at all. It reflects nothing. So, when your mind is noisy, it reflects chaos, confusion. When your mind is still and quiet, it reflects your Divinity.

The knowledge of this brings you eternally infinite happiness, instantly! When you begin to understand who you are, your Divine Nature, that 'you' are not the body, 'you' are not the mind, once you understand your Infinite Nature, who you really are and there is nothing else, you immediately become instantly happy. For happiness is your very nature. Happiness, and the SELF, are synonymous. There is only One. It has many names, but the One pervades all of space and time. And it is the only existence, and you are That. There is no other existence. Awaken to this Truth. 'You' are the only One that does exist. And, You are Consciousness. Silence of the Heart Robert Adams

Compassion Is Your True Nature

"Become a living conduit of compassion in this world.
For compassion is none other than your true nature. This is who You really are.
This is your eternal, unchanging Self.
Without compassion, there is no spirituality. All living beings originate from
the same source of love. Compassion.
Be merciful. Full of mercy.
In this way, you naturally reflect your true Self. Your eternal Self.
You become a light in this world.
The world loses its power over you.

Therefore, live in your true nature of compassion. This brings happiness.
Even as a child I could never understand how anyone could hurt an animal.
What right do you have to hurt an animal?
Your job is to protect the animal kingdom.
When you see God in all living beings, whom can you hurt?
You become compassion itself.
Your heart becomes big. And your personal suffering begins to subside.
A great joy ensues."

What Is a True "Mystical Experience"?

Have You Had a ''Mystical Experience"?

"I began in mystical Christianity. I was pulled towards this since I was a young boy. I sought this out by myself. I did not know why. I traveled long distances alone to attend talks on Christian mysticism. I begin to have unusual experiences, beautiful experiences that are beyond description. This is why we do not talk much about them. It is very difficult for most people to understand. There were glorious experiences of the entire universe emanating nothing but love, and we were this love. There is a world of eternal indescribable love, of bliss, of peace, that is the unchanging substratum of our existence. The Supreme. God.

So I devoted myself to this. No one understood this. My mother was very spiritual. Very religious. But she did not understand this. The question arises; why are certain people pulled towards a path of deep unfoldment, and others are not? There is something deep within you that is pulled to rise above this world. To rise above this world of man’s inhumanity to man. To experience the fathomless love, the peace, the truth, of God, Ultimate Reality. Once you experience this, you cannot go back. You cannot go back to believing that this world is all there is, that man’s inhumanity to man is Reality. We do reject it, we expand beyond it. We do not say the world is not real. We realize that God, as the world, is real.

We do not simply sit back and 'accept' it. We do not coldly observe it. We must understand what is happening. It is all happening on a backdrop of light, of eternal love. And so we become a vehicle, a living conduit of this love. Many people ask me, "Are the experiences of the saints, the martyrs, those who became transcendent, beyond time and space, true?"

Of course, this is of the mind, to imagine that only what we see is true. Can you imagine, if all there was to life is what we have experienced? As we unfold, we begin to experience the unimaginable beauty within. When your heart, your being, is loosened from the sole identification with this physical world, you may begin to experience the 'higher worlds' so to speak, for want of a better word. For on the path, there are many bliss permeated, heavenly realms of sublime perfection. This naturally occurs within you. And yet we keep unfolding further. For those of the devoted faith, such as the Christian mystics, the love in their heart is none other than their true Selves, God within them, and God, takes them over.

The love completely takes over. And of course, this love is beyond the false limitations of time and space. Of suffering and confusion. But as we say, the saints and sages did their homework. They prayed, meditated, reflected, contemplated, almost all of the time. What appears as 'sacrifices' to us is to them a joy. You forget to eat. You give of what you have to others. You feel pulled to stay up all night in devotions while everyone else is sleeping. Do you see what I am saying? All of the miracles, the joy of the so called levitating saints, is of Truth. The appearance of the spiritual giants to students with pure heart, centuries later, this is all of the eternal. Of ultimate Reality. Are you choosing to live for the eternal, or the temporal?

Now, this is  not as it sounds. I am not saying that you never go anywhere, never laugh or have fun. That you criticize what other people are doing, that they are wasting their time. Quite the contrary. You become more humble, more loving. You realize that you have no idea what other people are going through. No idea at all. Yet you, belong to God. You will not give up. You have made up your mind that the glory and the splendor of Reality, right here and now, will be your experience. You look no different than anyone else. You have a career, you are friendly to your neighbor. This is why I say that if you will stay up just one night, doing the I AM Meditation, The Sage in the Heart Meditation, praying, singing, you will never be the same. Everything fades into the background of the bliss that is all pervasive, permeating you. Yet you are not doing it for this reason. You are doing it out of the love in your heart. This love will protect you. But you must be sincere. You anchor yourself in God, not in looking for these experiences. And yet they come to you, of pre-ordination. Divine will. And you see beyond this world, into a great magnificence.

“Do not discuss and debate. Instead, do. Put this into practice. Experience this for yourself.”

A true spiritual mystical experience of Truth is never ‘weird’. It is never frightening, crazy. It has become the style to say that you had a 'breakdown' or a 'psychotic break' and you emerged spiritual. (laughter) Illumined. Or that everything must be destroyed. It is all about destruction. One seeker t told me he could no longer function. So he became enlightened. This is not what I am referring to. Quite the contrary. True progression is a gracious, gentle unfoldment. Joy ensues. But you cannot go on doing everything you, your human self, wants. You must surrender your anger, bad habits. Self-absorption. Follow self-control. Become humble. Full of loving kindness.

This is not as hard as it sounds. (laughter) It is who you really are. Naturally. If you focus completely on one teacher, sage or saint, one path, what is within you will become You outwardly. Experientially. What is within will become your Reality. Your life. If you are devoted to a saint or sage, you realize there is no death. They are among us. You are surrounded by the spiritual giants. They assist your efforts to awaken. See yourself taking the hand of the saint or master, and continue with your daily practices.

Follow a guideline of universal laws. Have you ever read Proverbs? This is very powerful. All of the true religions say the same thing - how to behave. The Christian mystics completely gave themselves over to Jesus. Jesus is the master of compassion. If everyone did what Jesus taught, everyone would be illumined. But who is willing to do this? Therefore, as you are living your life in this world, it behooves you to become acquainted with discernment. In your spiritual experiences. So called visions. You do not seek mystic experiences out nor reject them. You stay anchored in God. You trust in the supremacy of goodness. And God will reveal to you what you need to know.

But what are you doing every day to realize this? How do you know what a true mystical experience is? First of all, you will have no desire to leave your family, responsibilities, abandon people. Instead you will see The Supreme in them. You will serve God in them. You see the heart of God everywhere. You will have no desire to take drugs, to seek out these experiences. They occur naturally as you are destined to experience them in your unfoldment. With gentleness. Purity. If a saint, a master, appears to you, you are grateful. Humble. And you understand. You expand into the splendor and glory. You become a delight for others. You feel peaceful, beyond the common use of the word. You know, and you know that you know.

You feel an ineffable feeling of Good. Of love. Nothing that anybody can do to you can affect this in the least. You feel a deep gratitude for this life. This opportunity to unfold. Time, space, fear, confusion, all dissolve into a great benevolence that has no beginning and no end. It begins to permeate your daily life, your job, your home. You naturally begin to be attracted to that which is of compassion. Goodness. Perhaps you become altruistic. But you cannot have a true mystical experience and remain the way you are.

You cannot brush people off, be cold hearted. Participate in vile activities. This reveals your inner stature. Therefore, be very careful. Do not become involved in activities that involve all sorts of crazy involvements, the occult, and so on. If your grandmother comes to say hello after she leaves her body, say hello back. Send her love. And simply continue on with your spiritual practices.

Now if you are referring to true experiences of illumination, the experience of the mystics and saints; this is another thing entirely. All of the universe reveals itself to you. The planets, galaxies imploding and exploding, the gods and goddesses, the myriad of heavenly realms or lokas appear, eternity reveals itself within you and without you. What is beauty on this earth does not define a miniscule of the beauty that is of The Supreme. It is all happening spontaneously and naturally. Yet there is a peace that is beyond understanding, the realization that all is truly well, yet you are where you are in order to become a vehicle of this. Every-thing is wonder-full. Everything is perfect love omniscient, all pervading, eternal, unchanging. And You, (the real You) are That.

"How to live? Live by the golden rule. Do to others what you want others to do to you. Follow the universal laws, the Yamas and Niyamas. The Beatitudes. When confusion arises, return to this."

Making Conscious Decisions in an Unconscious World.

"We are spiritual people. This world is not."

Three guiding stars for making decisions in daily life: "You have been given the gift of free will in this life. Every decisions that you make incurs repercussions of the same origin. It behooves you to make decisions that reflect your True Self. To become a living vehicle of loving kindness."

1. Dive deeply into The Supreme, Truth, God, through solid devotions, practices until you feel 'the peace that does not change." Holy music, chant, prayer, and meditations as instructed enhance a complete lifting up 'beyond the confusion of this world' into eternal truth, wisdom, guidance.

2. Reflect on the decision in light of "The worlds great spiritual laws, upon which all true religions agree. Read the Yamas and Niyamas. The Beatitudes. Live by The Golden Rule. These are fundamental. This will protect you." This discerns the temporary from the eternal.

3. Ponder the decision that is for the good of all. "Never think that all that matters is your own desires. Your moods, fluctuating feelings, bad habits. Be still and observe this with compassion. Observe your reactions. You have this power. Be very honest with yourself. This results in Freedom. Freedom from bad habits, cycles of moods, up and down. You will rise. Be strong. I am calling you to a higher vision. Have fun, but do not become involved in the vile things of this world. Cling to the pure, the gentle. How you treat others will return to you. Stay anchored in Truth."

Living by spiritual laws is an internal choice for ourselves, rather than judging others. "Do not bother other people. If someone is harming you, harming others, then take proper action. If you must sue someone, sue them with love-do not culture hate. Yet create peace whenever you can."

A Radiance Emerges. Light on Enjoying the Holy-day Season

"This is a very auspicious time. People all over the world are thinking about God. This is a powerful time. Therefore be of good cheer. Increase your practices. Rejoice in the glory and the splendor. Become more compassionate. Become benevolent. Selfless. Give to others, asking nothing in return. It does not matter what reaction you receive. Feed the hungry, visit the housebound. Bring joy to the children. Celebrate. Ask others what you can do to make their lives easier.

Become a living embodiment of loving kindness. For this is really your true nature. This is who You really are. The world has just covered it up. It is up to you to awaken this nature. Thus, we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Jesus is the master of compassion. Love for your brother, as your Self. For they are one and the same. Therefore you find joy in bringing joy to others. You find Grace. Do this humbly. In a practical manner.

And you begin to unfold. A radiance emerges. You see the holidays with the wonder of a child. And you will feel a holiness. A great peace."

A Great Compassion

A great compassion for flowers, vegetation, everything.

This is compassion. Reconciling yourself with the whole universe, all of the kingdoms, animals.

We have to have a great compassion for the flowers, vegetation, everything that exists. This is important.

Ponder this.

Some us wonder why we have been on this path for a long time and we do not seem to be making much progress.

It is because your compassion is not big enough. As Consciousness, you have become the epitome of compassion

Joyful Fall Greetings.

Welcome to the Fall Robert Adams Institute Illumination Blog. This season our beautiful immersion topic is 'Peace and Surrender' as everyday realities. The topic of peace defines the foundational terrain of The Teaching of Robert Adams, both in the 'splendor and the glory of illumination' and in the the everyday contemporary world. In practical compassion and transcendence, we become 'an asset to this world'. Peace is our origin, our home, our true nature. In this world, establishing peace rather than passivity as taught by Robert Adams, is as the fine 'razors edge', as explained in the Katha Upanishad, "The sharp edge of a razor is difficult to pass over...as is the path to salvation, say the wise."

"Do not intellectualize peace and compassion with dry head knowledge. You must help others, for you are unfolding into a living conduit of peace in the world." The gentle sage refers often to 'The peace that passeth understanding' as a direct experience available to anyone who 'sincerely applies themselves to the practice of diving deep within to to rest in the Self - Sat Chit Ananda daily." In this fall season, may your days be bright with the light that is the eternal reality behind all physical events, in your own personal experience. May you be richly blessed in the words of wisdom, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children on God." Beatitudes.

In Love Omniscient,

The Robert Adams Institute

The Original Pure Form Teaching of Robert Adams
The Robert Adams Institute Blog
Topic Surrender

The Art of Surrender

'Prior to awakening comes a complete surrender. Not visions, not spiritual experiences but a total and complete surrender to the Self. When I say it's a complete surrender it's exactly what I mean. You surrender your entire life. This means all your problems, all the things you think are bothering you. All the good things, all the bad things. Everything is totally surrendered to the Self. And as you're doing this you automatically become compassionate and a tremendous amount of humility transpires within yourself.
There is a total surrender to God. Not certain things. I know some of you like to surrender the bad things, forget about that. You just surrender totally and completely. The bad and good things are all part of the relative world. And the whole relative world has to be totally and completely surrendered. Totally given up.

Then a great compassion and a great humility will come by itself. You see we're not trying to do these things physically? We just let ourselves fall into the space where all these things happen by themselves. And this comes from sitting in the silence. You see how all these things are connected to each other?
As you sit in the silence without desire, without want, without trying to change bad for good. All of a sudden you will feel yourself surrendering. Surrendering all of your ego. The body-mind surrenders. Everything let's go. And you become the epitome of compassion. A tremendous humility wells up within you. When you can feel these things the next step is to awaken totally."

What Is Surrender? Crisis Management Through Surrender to God

"Surrender is humility. You no longer cling to that which is not conducive to unfoldment. You no longer rationalize your changing confusion, reactions, bad habits, for you have found something better. Something eternal. Something wonderful. That which never changes. That which is eternal, glorious. You have found that within you is a grand magnificence. And you surrender to this. You surrender your heart, your words, your actions, until all that emerges from you is of Truth. Goodness. Ultimate Reality. You bow to this. You can do this formally if you wish. Light a candle. Bow to the God of your faith. When you truly surrender yourself to your SELF, (the divine within) you will be lifted up above the vicissitudes of this world. It is like a wave, a momentum that carries you once you have surrendered your heart. You are never the same. Why? You are no longer enslaved to the misery, the bad habits, the chaos, the meanness, the fear that you identified with as 'you'. You have discovered that you are not these things at all. You simply identified with them as one believes in a mirage.

When one surrenders to That which is Ultimate Perfection, The Supreme, God, He will take care of you. You will begin to see things from a so called higher perspective than you ever did before. You will begin to understand why things happen. Yet you will be a light unto the world. You will no longer contribute to the suffering of this world. It is all up to you. Which will you serve? God or Mammon? You cannot do both. This does not mean you leave this world, become strange, never go anywhere. It is all an interior realization. You will no longer be attracted to those things that are not of the qualities of The Supreme. You are not better or less than anyone else. You rejoice in this life. Surrender to God in your heart is the first thing upon awakening. Remind yourself of this through the day. Imagine God, a great spiritual giant, a saint of your heart, standing in front of you. In your heart, surrender to this bright light of Goodness. Become this light of Goodness. Radiate this light of Goodness. YOU are That."

Surrender to God

"What do you surrender to God? Everything that is not of your true nature. Each day, surrender that within the human self which is not conducive to unfoldment. Say "Here God, take my anger, my depression, my resentment. Take this from me. I surrender this to you, I give this up to you. I surrender to The Supreme. The Eternal. Omniscient Love. Compassion. " Do this several times a day if you must. You can do this with your breath. Do this regularly. This will weaken the power of these bad habits. This will be of great assistance to you. This lifts you up above this world. Above your samskaras. This enables you to surrender your humanity to God, the Self within; omniscient love, unchanging peace, loving kindness, bliss eternal, Sat Chit Ananda. How do you know when you are doing this? The qualities of the Self, the Supreme emerge from you. Peace. Humility. You stop bothering other people; you create peace. You become an asset to humanity. You have a realization deep within that this earth is at the evolution of the third grade. You continue to unfold. And you cling to Goodness."

"When you surrender a situation to God, you are not becoming passive. Not at all. You experience an interior realization that all is His Will, but you are a conduit of Good in this world. You have responsibilities. Karma. You have your dharma, your duty in this world. Yet if you surrender deeply, truly in your heart to The Supreme, with love and trust, then the suffering subsides. The worry subsides. You go out and take the right action, the highest action regarding the situation. You do not let what happens happen. If you help someone, you help them with all your heart. If you pray for someone who is sick, your pray with all your heart. You intervene with compassion if this is of assistance. Your duty is to alleviate the suffering of others. You do not remain idle. This is of the highest importance. Do not utilize spirituality to become apathetic. Quite the contrary. You become radiant, vibrant with The Light of a Thousand Suns. Yet in your heart, you give it all to God. You do not take the entire burden upon yourself. For you know, in your heart, that all is taking place in God. And you are at peace."

l

Prayer Surrender

"Prayer makes you humble. This lifts you up. No matter what is happening to you in the temporal world, surrender to God. Trust in the supremacy of Goodness. Pray to God and He will help you. Surrender your heart to God in prayer. Open your heart. Ponder the Truth and surrender completely to Ultimate Reality. To Absolute Goodness. Eternal Unchanging Bliss, The Supreme. How to pray when you surrender? The Lord's Prayer. You must open your heart and surrender the intellectualization of the mind. Rationalizing bad behavior. This dissipates suffering. You are rising to a higher Reality. You are becoming conscious of this Reality. This is more powerful than anything you are going through. There is a Reality that supersedes the physical realm, this is beautiful beyond imagining. This is all pervading. Surrender to this."

Summary of Steps to True Surrender in The Teaching of Robert Adams

1. Gently step back from the situation, and dive into the divinity of the Supreme.

2. Deliberately and sincerely hand the entire event over to the Supremacy of Goodness, The Eternal, Unchanging Omniscient Love that is God with humility and genuine heart. "Say 'Here God, I hand this over to you. Completely and totally. I surrender this to you.' " Remain in the peace. Do this upon the arrival of worry. "This is not escapism. This is Ultimate Reality. You are not running away. You are taking the highest, most compassionate path to the Truth, to love for all concerned." One may follow the ancient tradition of lighting a candle, surrendering in a church service, or simply in ones heart.

3. Take action required for the situation in accordance with prayerful guidance and in harmony with the eternal divine laws as stated in the Yamas and Niyamas, the Golden Rule. "No truth will guide you to harm others, to be aggressive, angry, belligerent."

"When you surrender, do not go back and begin worrying again. Dive deeply into the peace that passeth understanding. Ask God to completely take over the situation. And be at peace."

Sailing Through Life

"Surrender to The Power That Knows the Way. The Power that knows how to make a seed grow into an orange tree, that makes the sun rise again everyday no matter what is happening on the earth. That brings the seasons every year. This Power Guides your life to your highest good. You will sail through life. However, you must be very honest with yourself. humble, pure of heart. When you feel worry, fear, anger, surrender to The Power That Knows the Way." Robert Adams

What is 'Karma' and How Does It Affect Me?

A Rare Guidance on The True Universal Laws of Compassion:

An in- depth look into the totality of the layers of personal incoming events that arrive in ones life, and the power of compassion in regards to karmas. As You Sow, So Shall You Reap. Bible

"As long as you are in a physical body, you are under the laws of karma. How to live? Live by the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you wish them to do to you."

So much has been misunderstood about karma. Karma is not a punishment. Karma is a tool for understanding. For compassion. We understand how our actions affect others. Since most people do not understand how to behave correctly, how to have compassion, this helps us to understand. It is an exacting law of the material world. Many people tell me that they are beyond karma. But as long as you are in a physical body, (you) your body is under the laws of karma. There is no escaping it. (referring to misconceptions of being beyond 'good' and 'bad'. Goodness is the essential law of spiritual life, eliminating karma and suffering.) You body includes your mind and emotions. It will affect all of these areas to the extent that you yourself created on a previous occasion. It is really very simple. Yet, you need to understand it, because it explains suffering.

Every true spiritual teaching explains the laws of right and wrong. The laws of karma. The Bible tells us that as we sow, we shall reap. Whatever we plant shall return. If it did not, how could we understand a loving universe? Man fools himself. He pretends that because our actions do not return right away, they are not going to... Surprise! (Laughter)
Now you may ask, what creates karma? Everything. Everything that is not of your True Nature creates return responses. Just the way you gave them out. Of course this occurs in the world of action and thought. Beneath it all, your peace remains, unchanged. Waiting for you. Now this is very interesting. This includes words, actions and thoughts. Yes, thoughts. Uh-oh. Some of you don't like that. Let's say you have a nasty thought about somebody. You may be smiling at them,
but in your mind you choose to entertain a nasty thought. Now you know that your thoughts are part of your consciousness. So what is your consciousness doing? What is it doing everyday? What are you thinking about? What are your habits? Do they speak of your True Nature? Most peoples don't. They think no one can see or hear their thoughts, so it doesn't matter. The problem is that they (thoughts) also create karma. It means that you understand. This doesn't mean that you refuse to see the truth. What is going on. It means that you understand. You are honest with each person you are with.

You are compassionate. You are kind. You are radiating love. You do not have bad habits. You never say 'That's their karma.' Thinking a nasty thought about someone can become a bad habit. And you attract nasty thoughts back. And no one knows what is going on. They just know that they are suffering. Thoughts are real in the material world. They are actually a part of the karma's of the earth. Therefore they attract repercussions. Now this is not to create fear. It is to create freedom. Freedom from bondage. The bondage of bad habits. Without freedom from bad habits you cannot stop creating karma. It is impossible. Let's say that you say one thing to people and secretly think something else. This means that you have created the habit of deception. This creates karma. Then one day you trust someone, and they say one thing to you and another thing to someone else. Something nasty. Now you are hurt. Now you are suffering. Now you are confused. But you do not remember where it came from. You created it by doing it to someone else.

Each Time We Act Against Our True Nature, We Create Suffering

This is why we have the law of Ahimsa. Not harming others. Not harming any other living being. But you stop creating karma when you do not 'try' anymore. You are simply not attracted to doing things that cause karma. You are becoming more anchored in your True Nature, Loving kindness. Your True Nature does not want to harm anyone. Anything. Your True Nature is loving compassion. To all. Each time we act against our True Nature, we create suffering.

Now Karma can get more complex

Say you are trying to create a career. A living. You are honest. Hard working. You do your best. Yet something always happens. You can't seem to get a break. It starts to affect you. You become depressed. You become despondent. Your personality changes. All because you cannot understand what is going on. Now, one way to approach this is to say, "I have bad karma". And to give up. This is the passive stance. It is taken by many so- called spiritual people. But there is another way. There is hope. You see, you do not have to be a victim of your karma. Your real, Ahimsa based True Nature (giving only love) is stronger than any karma. It is not subject to the laws of this world. (meaning karma can be balanced with loving actions) Your True Nature is Pure. It is beyond the appearances of suffering. No one who understands karma says, '"That is their karma." when they see someone suffering. They have compassion. They intervene. This is where the hope comes in. There are two things more powerful than your karma. Compassion. And Forgiveness. When we choose these qualities, these truths, we Awaken.

"Never think that you can 'get away' with anything. The lords of karma are always watching."

There Are Two Things More Powerful Than Your Karma

Let's say that you see someone suffering. You may not like the person very much. But this has come to you. You see this. This has all been pre-arranged. Even this is your karma.
So you see this person suffering. Now, you have two choices. You will create your future. You can see their suffering and say, "I understand the laws of karma. This is happening to him because of something he created. How lucky I am to understand this." And you walk away. This is the way of the beginning seeker. The one who does not understand. They only care about what happens to them. And so they go their way. But one day they will be in that position. They will be suffering, and no one will care. There will be no one to help them. Perhaps they will be in a religion, or a family, where they think, "Well, that is your karma." And there is no compassion. So he starts wondering. And eventually he will learn that everyone deserves compassion. This does not mean that you let anyone hurt you. This just means that you deal compassionately. Gently.

Compassion Is Stronger Than Karma

Then they eventually Awaken. Oh, now I understand. Compassion is my True Nature. When everyone has compassion, then no one suffers. That is when you live in a more spiritually advanced, knowledgeable culture, or civilization. This is who we really are deep down. But something, someone changed our minds. We decided not to be compassionate. We refused to simply live in our True Nature. This is why we suffer. It is so simple. Yet we make it complex. It is not. Now there is the second way. Remember, the first person walked away. He thought he was 'spiritual'. He thought he was Awakened. But he thought to be spiritual meant you only do what is convenient. What is comfortable. What feels good. There is a whole new religion that thinks what 'feels good' means it is Your True Nature. It is 'peaceful'. And they don't understand why they are still suffering.

Now if you choose the second way of compassion, you begin to Awaken. Awakening occurs each time you live in your True Nature. But you must choose to do this. No one can do it for you. Then you begin to feel joyful. Peaceful. And this begins to define your life. And so you see, in the end, you actually feel better than you ever thought possible. For you have overcome all suffering. You see someone suffering. You understand that there are the laws of karma. And you step in. You see what you can do to help. To alleviate suffering. You do anything you possibly can. This is what it means to be holy. Two things have happened here. You have intervened in someone else's karma, and you have changed your own. Every time you perform an act of compassion, you change your own karma. This is a law. The story of the Bodhisattva encompasses this law. To not accept complete enlightenment, complete annihilation of the ego and separation from God, into omniscient love, bliss and joy, until every single person on earth does. And so you return to this earth. To help others. So you see, it is not so bad. (Laughter)

You Can Change Your Karma.

But you cannot perform actions without karma. Now, the truth is, there is no karma. (In the non-changing Bliss of God beyond re-birth) Yet, you cannot escape your karma, But there is no karma. You see, you are here on earth in a physical form. Yet this is all a dream sequence. This is not your Home. Your real Self remains ever anchored in the bliss of God. It has gone nowhere. It is who you really are. This is the Real Self that remains never changing bliss consciousness, pure joy. This is what the person meditating feels. This is the bliss spoken about in all spirituality. It is a fullness of heart. You are lacking nothing. You are a part of all of life. You are Omniscient. You are interested in the well- being of everybody. And yet, you are nobody. No ego. No anger. No selfishness. Nothing but your True Self. This is occurring right now, this very minute. Right where you are. Be still. Watch. Let the thoughts go by. Feel who you really are. You can feel it. You can feel the bliss. The completeness. The 'you' that is beyond it all. The 'you' that knows the truth behind all changing circumstances.

Q and A on 'Karma'

Q: Is it better to meditate and pray for the world, or to get involved and help the world?

R: Both. You leave the world better for being here. You work for good causes, but it does not destroy you if things do not go your way.

Q: My brother works on those ships that save whales and dolphins. He does this full time. I wonder about this. Is this the best way?

R: Anything that alleviates the suffering of living beings is very good. This makes one unselfish. You do not become self- absorbed. You are an asset to the animal kingdom. This is a compassionate quality. That is a spiritual boon.

This is why when I say "Leave the world alone" of course I mean to think higher thoughts than the world. Then, you get in there and help, wherever you can.

Robert Adams on Peace in the World

A Fresh Fall Look at Peace in the Current Cultural Climate

"Abide in This."

"I feel and see peace in every situation. Whatever appears to be going on, there is peace. Just as in the center of a hurricane, there is a peaceful circle, total stillness at the center of a hurricane. The same is true in the center or a tornado. The cyclone. There is a Center of Peace. We (Our True Self) are all that Center. The true peace is You (divinity within the human experience). Everything that appears is an image. An image that appears on the Reality of Life. That is Reality. Consciousness. (God). And, all of the vicissitudes of the world are superimposed on this Consciousness. YOU (Gods Presence Within) are totally Absolute Freedom, total harmony and joy. This is your true nature. Abide in this; Truth, love, happiness, peace, joy are all your True Nature.

It is a feeling beyond a feeling. Everyone is your brother and sister. Therefore, you have a great compassion. A love for all humanity."

Silence of the Heart

Take Refuge in Peace. Our Daily Reminder

"Take refuge from this world in the peace within. The peace that passeth understanding. The depths of which are unfathomable. Find sanctuary daily in this all pervading, unchanging bliss permeated peace of God. The Supreme. When confusion, suffering arises, abide in this ever present peace that is the origin of your being. Ultimate Reality. For this peace is omniscient Love. This love is your true Self. Here, you will find everything that you have been looking for Suffering subsides. Happiness begins to bubble up. Joy ensues.""Peace does not mean that you take no spiritual responsibility. That you remain passive when you should be a living conduit of loving kindness. It is the opposite. As you experience the true totality of peace, it permeates all who come in contact with you."

Trusting in the Current, Power That Knows the Way...Everyday.

There is a power, and there is a Presence which I like to call The Current That Knows the Way, that takes care of everything. It is all a part of The Grand Illusion (* "The Grand Illusion is the experience of being in physical form, completely defining 'you'. Always remember, even in physical form you can rise to a higher vision. Live by 'higher laws' of compassion. Abide by a Higher Reality. Then, you will be correctly guided. This is called the spiritual path." Robert Adams)
And, even in this 'illusion', which appears in front of your eyes, there is a Presence and a Power that lifts you up. It will lift you up as high as you can allow it to. Until it lifts you up completely out of your body, out of your thoughts, out of the universe, into a completely new dimension.

Question: What are 'The Higher Laws? Higher Qualities'?
Robert: (example) If you cannot say anything good about someone then remain silent and you have thereby blessed someone else with your silence. Learn to behave, live in loving kindness. Until one learns to behave, one cannot begin to progress. Your humanity must be surrendered to Omniscient Love and Right Action. You will rise to a higher reality.

As a human being, you have to behave yourself. Be compassionate. Loving, kind, helpful to others. As Consciousness, you become others. You have become the epitome of compassion, of loving kindness, of Bliss.
What is compassion? Actually compassion is when you are reconciled with this entire universe.
So many times I tell you, everything is 'karmic', everything is pre ordained, you do not lift one finger that is not pre- ordained for you to do. Yet, at the same time, I am telling you that you have to give up certain things, and develop Higher Qualities, which is right."

Q: Robert, how do we react when we are attacked, unjustly for doing only good, (which) appears to have been the 'way of the world' since Christ's time and before?
Robert: Abide in Goodness. You will be lifted up by higher laws than those who abide by no laws- until karma returns to such, creating suffering. In this light, you perform Right Action, - do not cultivate hate. What is Right Action? Do unto others as you want them to do to you. If someone attacks you, takes from you unjustly, abide by the laws of the land. Do what is necessary to protect yourself. For this life is a sacred opportunity. Many people hear me tell stories of the thieves, crooks that approached the Jnani, the Sage, but they forget the end of the stories. They all stopped being thieves and became devotees! (laughter) That is interesting. No one remembers the end. The moral. That is why I say, look very carefully at who you are attracted to. If you are saint, you will be attracted to saints. If you are a thief, you will be attracted to thieves. But you cannot fool God. God sees the heart. Therefore, remain gentle, humble and strong. Live in righteousness. Speak truthfully and take Right Action Continue to Abide in Goodness. For this is none others than the Self. "

Daily Living

l

Robert: Making quotations is one thing. Being a Living Embodiment of the Truth is another thing. There is a difference in knowing the Truth, and just letting yourself be walked on. This does not mean you become a rug for somebody to step on you.
You become a doormat for no one. You are abiding in the Self. When you abide in the Self, everything will be OK. You are not a coward. You are not running form anything. You are abiding in the Self.
Robert: Your body and mind are motivated by karma. The law of karma takes care of them. But you are not your body. If you are aware that You are not your body, the Right Action will ensue.

Never think that if you were truly spiritually unfolding, you would have no feelings for those suffering. This is a very dangerous idea. It is the opposite. You will have increasing compassion. Loving Kindness. Not as an idea. As a direct, practical action.

So many people ask me about the holocaust. They think that if people were illumined, they would just sit there, doing nothing, and observe everything that was happening 'peacefully'. Quite the contrary. The true person who has had a direct experience of God, is the first person to get in there and help. You could do nothing else. You are of one heart. You help others whenever you see suffering. For You have become a living conduit of Truth, of your true Self within, of love, compassion and humility while in this world in a body. There is nothing to discuss, you simply help others. Because the mass consciousness of this planet is on such a low, so to speak, consciousness, of mans inhumanity to man, you must lift yourself up and rise above this. I am calling you to a higher vision. Now.

It Is All Up to You.

I am not a guru. You have asked me to share my experience. Try it and see if it works for you. I can tell you the truth, this world is not your home, yet you must leave it better for being here. By all means, if you want Self Realization, and you want to become Free, and you want to be free from the ocean of samsara, worldliness, and become Bliss- Full, then it is up to you. I can share these things with you, but I cannot make you do it. It is just like: I can bring you to the gold mine, but you have got to do your own digging. What comes first in your life again? Whatever comes first in your life, that is what you become. Realize the God within you will never lead you astray.

Reminders on The Path-Always help whoever is in need.

You should make it a policy to help whomever is in need, if they can, and not thinking about it. This is our karma, in any event. It has been pre -ordained again, every step you are going to take in this body, in this plane of existence.
But if the chance arises, when you have an opportunity to help people, by all means do so.

The First Sign is Compassion for All Living Beings.

Illumination is not a psychotic break. Not an earthquake. A forced 'awakening'. It is peace. Harmony. Love. Security. In That which remains unchanging within and without you, God. Progression is always natural, gentle, loving, full of peace. This is the truth that never changes. This is who you are. Spiritual unfoldment is not a dry, intellectual head game of experimenting in all sorts of things. The first sign of true spiritual growth is compassion. Compassion increases. For all living beings.

Without compassion, there is no 'spirituality'.

Be As A Rose

A rose need not declare, 'I am fragrant'. By its very nature it is fragrant.
So you need not declare, 'I am doing a good deed', by your very nature, you cannot help helping others. By your very presence. And if you can't say a good word, or can help in any way, you say nothing. Thus you have blessed someone with your silence. You will naturally feel inclined to be of service to others in your actions, for you will feel no other choice. You are pure compassion. You intervene when others are being hurt, animals, children and so on, yet you retain your peace.

"The Sage is Not Confined to a Body."

How do true, illumined spiritual teachers continue to guide "the sincere spiritual aspirant"?
"The Sage is not confined to a body whatsoever. A Sage is the All Pervading, everywhere present. So, to be in contact with the Sage, all you have to do is think about the Sage, and you are in contact with the Sage.
So we must first develop humility We have to develop love, peace."

"There is no time or space that separates a true sage, a true spiritual master- one who Knows God. They do not dissolve into a void, become impersonal, disattached. There are many dimensions of existence, higher-so to speak-evolved planes of love, harmony, peace, there is the pure bliss state. Selflessness, where ones joy exists in helping alleviate the suffering of others. There is no' end', there is only infinity. A rare, true spiritual master has risen above,' master' for want of a better word, the planes. Those who have committed sincerely to a spiritual path are in the heart of the teacher. They are aware of their actions. Their prayers. Their efforts. They are available to the pure heart who is sincerely making the effort, at any time. There is a divine connection".

Mrs. Adams Roses

She once said to me, "Never forget a kindness (someone did for you.). I never did." I was fortunate enough to visit Mr. and Mrs. Adams home for celebration holiday parties. For family events for a couple years. This was his inner circle tradition for over twenty five years they explained. The majority of the guests were in amazing colorful saris and evening clothes, They were from India. They had their own family culture of his students. Some in second generation. They, as their teacher, all had large, solid, musically or professionally inclined families that shared their talents. The warmth was overflowing. I never saw anything like it. In American groups i saw, most were single. Separated from their folks. Warmth and 'lavish' (a word Mrs. Adams taught me) unconditional giving were not big priorities. It was mostly a vague concept. Values were mostly absent. This was so different.

I was a member of another spiritual tradition and church years before.

Mrs. Adams was the root of the warmth and authenticity. Her bright and lively personality lit up the room. It was a breath of fresh air. It dissolved our spiritual pretending side. We could just be happy. Straight to the heart. She taught women to respect themselves. They enjoyed in the family the childrens play noises rather than aiming for quiet. The kids laughter sounds were ageless and welcome. A natural flow of joy. As the teacher says, there is a big difference between talking about love, meditations on love, and the way you act if others cross you. In a litany of rules, the idea in my previous church was to keep kids-as a burden you created, as quiet and fairly non existent as possible. I had never been in such a well- meaning really happy but solid group. That felt so deeply right in the order of the divine. The home viewed the ocean. Several generations lived together in roomy harmony. Mrs. Adams legendary tropical table feast was both awesome in the formality of presentation, but mostly welcoming to everyone as family. No air of cool separation or what did you contribute?' She just had a selfless hug of love in it all. I watched. She filled up people's empty hearts. Her counsel set many women straight on enjoying life wholesomely. I got it. The real thing that doesn't need to be discussed or told to meditate on- because if you are innately loving it is already there. You bring out the happy in others. And it was her front garden that affected me deeply. It was the roses.

She told me each morning at sunrise, and later in the gold twilight, she was out in her large Mediterranean yard of her roses. We all asked her what it took to grow so many in perfect condition. There she was, happily nurturing, watering, caring for them. Her hands were artistic. She cared for her roses as she did for others. Making everything bloom. All different colors, sizes shapes. My take-away was that there was an inherent sweetness, a sincerity, trusting, that ran through them all, as if they were just visiting this planet. To make it more beautiful. At first I did not understand why she did all this when they had a gardener. I'm practical that way.

But the sight of it was meditative in its beauty. For it was not' how can I get a perfect garden?' but like' I love these roses and life should be gorgeous whenever possible. and the roses were divine'. I got it. Neighbors strolling by would stop and smile and leave notes of thankfulness for the sight. Robert Adams waved and smiled. He allowed few if any students into his private residence. So this was an undeserved blessing. He struck me a gentle fellow who would suddenly speak your unsaid thoughts as gently as a host or angel asking to help you if you wished. Provide hope, encouragement. Very protective of his wife.

I was surprised to see how family oriented his life was because newbies would mistakenly clump him with neo sixties no- rules leaders, which he corrected. I was not aware that his wife, refreshing, candid and classy, was a well known dress designer in the Los Angeles area until I saw her lace dresses in Nordstrom. When they moved into a gated community in Encino as family members moved on in their education. I could no longer drive by the route to work and wave at her blissfully busy in her legendary rose garden. It took a great light out of my day. At the time she resembled the actress Elizabeth Taylor to me.

It was years later when after my own children were grown and off to college that I heard that this teacher who had been supportive of the arts and Hollywood Bowl concerts I loved, had increased in international renown. He was visiting Arizona to give talks. His wife was now selflessly caring for his outer requirements full time, as sudden illness touched his form. For this she had paused her career. Her LA company of seamstresses and friends. He was more shining than I had ever seen him. A new completely transfiguring glow shone from his soft spoken ways. Of course there was a family concern for this new illness. I saw him joke and did amusing things to make them happy. Just being near him felt like you had elevated into a quick haven of peace so deep it was hard to describe.

She had married a foreigner as a teenager, and never knew adult life without the sage, her husband.

I had to head to New York for new work. When I returned, much later, she had moved into a lovely home on a street close students. She was humbly and devotedly continuing classes in Satsang. But I somehow got the wrong address and could not find the house before I had to leave. I got lost in the area. I had no phone number. In the morning I left early morning for the airport. I drove through the scenic residential street. The warm of morning was lighting the sky. I watched a figure in the yard up ahead moving about, seemingly in a long sparkly sari type gown. Driving slowly, I looked closer. I was overjoyed. It was actually her. She was delicately floating about in a large yard of big boldly blooming roses in Arizona heat!! I knew the sage had brought me here.
I drove into driveway and we had a wonderful greeting. I knew if she was with all her roses all was well. We have kept in touch.

To this day, I cannot grow a weed, but whenever I see big blooming roses, I remember two extremely rare, lovely species of people that I briefly met that like roses, share their fragrance for such a short while with the rest of us. I am thankful.

Hi blokes, peace be with you ! On behalf of the animal kingdom, here is one of my favorites., Give it up for Katie B. at Gentle Barn!!

Together we are Better! The Virtue of Compassion. "Your job is to protect the animal kingdom.' Robert Adams

"You Must Reconcile Yourself with the Animal Kingdom."

Robert Adams is referred to as 'The St. Francis of the West" in groups of Eastern temples that honor him, due to his uncompromising, peaceful protection of animals, honoring their centuries old tradition of a non- violent diet. The gentle teacher, who spoke only upon request while living the contemporary life of an American family man in traditional spiritual ethics, remains devoted to supporting rescue sanctuaries for decades, in Los Angeles and nationally. The beloved sage and his children devotedly brought home a variety of injured or abandoned animals, an often humorous sight when the 'barnyard animals', a gentle baby and Mother goat here and there, peacefully roamed serenely through their large family home amid antiques , oriental rugs, visiting inner circle talks amid Mrs. Adams immaculate formal surroundings.

The gentle sage often answered the door with a large talking parrot on his shoulder, a birthday gift from his child, accompanying him from room to room throughout the day rather than being in a cage. Robert Adams beloved dog Dimitri's life began as an abandoned dog who spiritually blossomed into a communicative, deeply loving and protective soul, whom he carried in his arms for years around the park for his daily walk, long after he ceased to be ambulatory. His beloved family-family counselors and spiritual teachers-continues to educate on the spiritual requirement of compassion for animals rather than self oriented complacency, establishing animal aid projects and speaking to groups nationally. The touchingly rare beauty of Robert Adams Teaching, the founder and established author of the modern 'Now' movement, inspires souls throughout the world to his call to 'A Higher Vision' in everyday living, among the most important, the Virtue of Compassion.

" Without compassion, there is no spiritually. Peace. Peace. Peace."

Within You is Unimaginable Beauty. Create a Life Bright and Shining. Now.

"Create a life Bright and Shining! Create a life conducive to unfoldment. It is entirely up to you how you create your life in this embodiment. Rise above the foils and foibles of this world, mans inhumanity to man, and create a life Bright and Shining in this world, as the sun behind the clouds. Within you is unimaginable beauty. Emanate the peace, the harmony, the love that is your true nature. Approach others with loving kindness. Compassion. Become a living embodiment of compassion in this world. Be very careful who you become involved with-spend time with those that are conduits of good in this world. Who are humble, gentle, full of warm heartedness. Choose an environment of gentle, warm- hearted people. Create a home of kind happiness. Serve God in others.

Regardless of what is occurring to you, try to make others happy. The life you choose to lead is entirely up to you. Spend time in the beauty of nature daily. Trust in the Supremacy of Goodness. Peace. Try to create peace wherever you are with whomever you are with. Make peace with those that you have not made peace with previously. The best way you can prepare to do this is to experience the indescribable peace within. For your life will reap the fruits of your efforts. It is all up to you. Your true nature is Bright and Shining like the sun. Feel this. Emanate this to all. Surrender to this Reality. This life may be a dream but it can be a joyful one. One Burst of Illumination

k

"The discovery of who You really are is the key to your residing, subsiding in the Reality of the substratum of your existence-happiness.

By asking (through spiritual practices, devotions) who You really are, You will burst forth onto the brilliance within, that is glorious beyond your wildest imagining. You are flooded with the deepest fulfillment that is possible. You slow down the mind-cease to identify with the racing chase towards mirages, and allow the incredible fullness, the resplendence of the depths of this moment, to surge upwards through You. You discover a peace that is so all-encompassing that it cannot be described. You become love. Pure love.

You no longer try to evaluate it, find fault with others, you are not simply your human mind that leads you up and down like a yo-yo. You, in essence, are something completely different. That something is ineffable.

The illumination within (The Supreme-God) cannot help but to burst through to all that it comes in contact with.

For it resides in complete joy. Here you find the refuge, all that you are seeking. Wherein all suffering dissolves.

As we are all illuminated from within, the moment of realizing our true state is at hand.
We feel this deeply."

Robert Adams

How does this feel? Bliss magnified a trillion times. Love expanded beyond infinity. The day will come when you will open your eyes to a completely New Reality. It is so bright, all-pervading, that all will be revealed. And you will know who You are. Far above this temporal experience.

Bubbling Over With Thankfulness

"Try to be bubbling over with thankfulness for this life you have been pre -ordained to receive. To take birth in this human embodiment, to be able to unfold, really progress in this lifetime, is a great boon. It is very auspicious. Somewhere you have earned this.

So rejoice in this freedom. Utilize this freedom. Honor this freedom.

Enjoy this divine freedom to unfold beautifully each and every day-in the glory of The Supreme. It is all up to you. If you feel you can be thankful for nothing else, thank God every day for this gift. Something will begin to happen. Humility will arise. Happiness will begin to arise.

For this is the unchanging nature of your Self. You will begin to notice the wonder, the glory and Splendor of this world. In the meantime, expand this thankfulness to those that have nothing. Become a living embodiment of kindness. Assistance to others, and you will tap into this happiness of the heart center within you.

You are not passive. You become a conduit of the alleviation of the suffering of others; you will be lifted up to a higher consciousness. Trust in the supremacy of Goodness.

Today, surround yourself with the pure and lovely, the gentle things of this world, and be thankful for them. God is taking care of you. You must have a higher vision than what you see. Dive deeper. Find the eternal Light behind the temporal events. When despondency arises, say to God, "I am bubbling over with thankfulness!" You will laugh at yourself. See the world with the wonder of a child. Identify with this. This is Reality.

You are taken care of very well indeed. How does the earth know to grow food? How do the birds know where to fly? There is a Power That Knows The Way that created you and is guiding your life.
Therefore, be thankful.
And be at peace.

Peace. Peace. Peace."

Everyday Instant Inspiration

Question: Does doing selfless service to help others bring a higher state of realization?

R.A.: True selfless service is a higher state of realization. You are simply a vehicle.

(The gentle Sage regularly incorporates selfless service to the homeless and orphaned into his Teaching and into ones spiritual life. Together with his daughter, he established The Benevolence Project, recipient of the Hearts for Humanity award for assisting homeless children and the institutionalized. Below, one of many practices he requested students at his Dialogues participate in.)

RA: Shanti, , om, peace, peace. Welcome. I welcome you with all my heart. Good afternoon. It's good being with you once again on this fifth , since we've been (private host). A bhandara is usually for feeding the poor. And for about three years we've been trying to feed the poor.....But usually what a bhandara is when poor homeless people line up in two rows, they sit down, we give them plates and put food in their plates. So we will do what we did last year. I would like each one of you before christmas to take ten dollars and give it to a homeless person, without judgement. It makes no difference what you think of the home- less person whether you think they're right or wrong or whether you think they're home- less or not, whether you think they're lazy or whether you think they don't want to work, it's immaterial. Give ten dollars to the first homeless person you see. This will be our way of feeding the homeless.

RA (The Benevolence Project) If everyone here would bring a present, a toy for a child, we will distribute them to the orphan children for Christmas. (to several dozen institutions in Los Angeles)

Question: If one chooses to give all of their attention to caring for a large family, what about practices in order to grow closer to God?

R.A.: Loving, taking care of others is a spiritual practice. But you must do this genuinely. From your heart. With much love. See God in those you take care of. Thus, you are serving God everyday. This is sadhana. Spiritual practice. Wake up before they awaken for additional practices.

Question: If I feel annoyed, angry, impatient, don’t I need to explore this, express it to rid it?

R.A.: What ‘I’ is feeling angry? This is not the true ‘I’. This is who you have developed, the personality you identified as ‘you’. The habit ‘you’ have created. “I am angry.” It is not the actual thing making you impatient, angry, or everyone would feel impatient, angry from the same thing. Yet you choose to be impatient. Angry. Therefore, you look at this intelligently and you find that the real ‘You’ has never been angry, never felt impatient.

As you grow stronger in the real You, you surrender the impatience, the anger to God. As you unfold, it grows weaker. Now. Since others suffer from your choices, you must make up your mind to lift yourself above this. To drop it. As you are progressing, talk directly to God. Say, “Here God, take my impatience, my anger.” And truly surrender it. Whenever the habit appears to arise, you turn to your IAM meditation, your inquiry, your chanting, with peace and equanimity. For as you know, you are here because of karma. You do not wish to create anymore. You wish to create a life of peace, joy, harmony.

Question: You said that not being angry does not mean we do not engage in social justice, objection to injustice. But I find an insidious form of soft misogamy in much of the spiritual mentality that I have encountered, particularly in Vedanta. There is a tendency to make crude remarks, condescension, and to write off the female teachers, wives of teachers and families by men trying to appear knowledgeable. As a lifelong student of Vedanta, I find this appalling and cruel.

R.A.: This is not the way of one who has realized Truth. Those who have chosen to have families, or not to have families and have truly gained a direct experience of God, of Truth, would never do such things. They would have nothing negative to say about women. Why would they do this? There is only Truth, compassion, gentleness. Respect. You can tell the true spiritual stature of someone by the words that come out of their mouth. By the way they treat others. One who Knows, does not incur such thoughts or feelings. They do not associate with such environments. All are One. You peacefully speak the truth. You remove yourself from such people. Anger incurs anger. You remain in peace.

A Pondering on True Freedom for the Fourth

"What is freedom? Our culture teaches us that freedom is doing whatever the body wants to do, saying whatever the mind tells us to say. Behaving the way our anger, confusion, resentment tells us to behave. And of course, this is a cycle that never ends. For what your body tells you to do, your ever changing mind tells you, your reactions to others tells you, always changes. Anger incurs more anger. The senses are never fulfilled. What is one to do? Find refuge in loving kindness. This is your eternal, unchanging true nature. Develop a spiritual understanding of the outer tendencies. Your own tendencies; samskaras. Hold them up to the Yamas and Niyamas. The Golden Rule. This results in true freedom from so called addictions to that which results in suffering. Life becomes lighter. You will avoid making more incoming chaotic repercussions. For where you place your consciousness, is what you will become. Is this not true? What things are you placing your consciousness on? Be free of this. Swim in the nectar of the unchanging. The Eternal. Dive into the bliss beyond imagining. And as you walk through this world, simply be source of compassion whenever possible. Begin now. Refrain from participating in that which harms others in any way. At least you will not be creating additional incoming suffering. The world loses its power over you. You will be lifted up into a new reality, while in the world. This makes you stronger. No-thing can affect it. Sickness cannot affect it. Suffering cannot affect it. Other people cannot affect it. For you become truly free. Free from the strength of this world, yet you become a light unto this world.

Become That which You really are. Beyond the changing body. Thoughts. Events. Not by ignoring them. Not by becoming uncaring. But by becoming the love, bliss, compassion of which you speak. Become Free Now. Peace. Peace. Peace."

Family First. Parenting Children.

Robert Adams remained a devoted family man for the majority of his life, providing a rare example for contemporary life in the richness of uncompromised classic spiritual precepts. Raising seven children, including those of relatives unable to raise them, an exuberant whimsical purity in their home included dancing with balloons/music with the children, traditional parties, and great devotion.

Student: I have a question. How should we treat children?

Robert: Treat children as if they were Gods. Love them with all your heart and with all your soul. If you really love children the love that you feel for them will encompass them also. And they will become loving children. I don't mean love them with a human idea of love. I mean really love them. With all your heart and all your soul. See them as a sacred being.

You're their living father and be a high spiritual being at the same time. See them as a God. And realize divine right action is pouring itself through them. See only the goodness in them. Become an example for them. Do not tell them to do anything that you wouldn't do yourself. Children become what they see not what they hear.

Therefore, if there is peace in your home, if there is love in your home, there is joy in your home, I mean real peace, real love, real joy they have to pick it up. It has to pour into them. And they will react with love and with peace and with joy. They will grow up to be kind, compassionate, beautiful human beings and this will become a new world. So again become an example of love and compassion and peace. Whenever you look at them or think about them. Look at them with love and compassion and joy and peace and then you'll be surprised what happens.

See them as your Self. You've got to love your Self first. If you're an angry person, a mad person, bad temper, do not see them as that self. Rather work on yourself first and get rid of all those negative qualities. Then see them as your Self. For there is only one Self. That Self is love. That Self is compassion, bliss, consciousness. Know this about your Self. Then include your children. But you can't be a troubled person and then send out love to your children. It will not work. For the children are part of yourself and they become what you really are deep inside. This is why if you want a peaceful household with peaceful children you've got to become peaceful with yourself first.

And the vibrations will go into your household your children will pick them up and become peaceful children. Your children in the right way, because you will not be peace. working from the selfish ‘you’ or from ignorance. You will be working from wisdom. You will be an example for your children. An example of wisdom, of total honesty, total joy, total peace. And the children will emulate you. So this is not a question of not caring about your children. It is not a question of not being a good father. If you become self-realized, you will be a good father. Try it.

Suffering, Abuse, Bullying

Q: My child is being bullied at school and through notes about him being circulated. These kids do not even know him but I think they sense he was raised non- violent. He is in choir, very active in our church. He asked to do this. So, I reported it to the appropriate people. A spiritual friend said I should discuss with him why he attracted this and how he can overcome this spiritually instead of react. I was horrified to lay this on an innocent child, and I wonder if this is in accordance with your teaching on non- reaction.

Robert Adams: Yes. Remove your child from this vile environment immediately. To tell that to a child is nonsense. One inquires of oneself; What right do you have to tell someone they attracted something? How do you know? Instead, inquire of yourself; why do you not feel a natural response of compassion? Helping? For this is the nature of your true Self. This is your natural spiritual nature. Non-reaction is an interior realization. One understands the mass consciousness of ignorance, man’s inhumanity to man.  Non-reaction means that one responds in peace, love whenever possible, or one removes themselves from an environment of abuse.

I do not mean to run away when it is you that harms someone. You take spiritual accountability-you apologize-for your actions. One does not culture hate. One does not respond in reaction to meanness, abuse, gossip, cruelty, being taken advantage of for your kindness. Your goodwill. But you do not become a doormat. You simply no longer participate in the interaction. You anchor yourself in the peace unchanging within, in the three virtues. Do this until you really feel it.

Do not stay there and let someone abuse you. Never tell someone that is suffering that they attracted this. We do not rationalize your lack of compassion with the mind. Instead, offer to be of comfort. Ask what you can do to help. To make life easier. To bring sunshine to others. Do not allow a child to remain in vile circumstances in this world. Cover them in compassion. Love, protection. You are on this earth for a reason. To learn compassion. Do not become indifferent to cruelty. Teach him kind discernment. Right and wrong.

Having Less Material Things Does Not Make Children More 'Spiritual'

Question: I am trying to limit my childrens material possessions, things, so that they will be more conscious. My ex -husband is of the opposite view. He and his family, very large Italian family, give huge amounts of presents, things and many outings to parties, theme parks, but I do not want to hurt his families feelings. How can I offer my children a more spiritual environment?

RA: Having less material things does not make children more spiritual. It is the consciousness, the love behind the gift that the child receives. The important thing is what are you doing with your child? The love that you are giving them. It is fortunate that your child has loving, giving relatives. The mind often feels that when there are less things around, this is a superior way. Instead, have more personal time with your child. More loving. That is what he will digest and remember. The more love they feel, the more you put them first, the more they become spiritually inclined. The choices you make with a benevolent heart. Teach them to bless people. To thank people. How to treat people. This is what is conducive to the childs unfoldment. They can have many toys or few, but they will emulate who you really are.

(*Protect your children from the vile things of this world. Movies-television- toys of violence. Cruelty. Fear")

Question: Does being completely still in the moment, bring complete joy?

RA: It depends on what you mean by being ‘still’. By ‘joy’. For if you keep your body completely still-unmoving- in the external moment, that is not Stillness. That is being still. Therefore, this does not result in joy. The true Stillness is an interior experience of Omniscient Ultimate Reality. Unalloyed Peace. The Supreme, God. You must dive into God within. We are not simply speaking of the external, earthly moment. Of just keeping the outer form still. You can be in the Stillness, immersed in the Presence of God-radiant with peace, joy, while working, parenting, cleaning. We must look at this intelligently. If you just sit still, that is of the body. If someone is hurting an animal, being mean to others, and you simply sit there, this is not the Stillness. Follow the Golden Rule. You would wish assistance. Protection. This is your true nature, for compassion is Ultimate Reality. Therefore, jumping into God, immersing yourself in the interior Stillness, the love, the peace that is your true Self, results in true joy.

*On children: "Never force a child to do spiritual practices. To sit still. Introduce them with love. Joy. Gentleness. Humor. Teach peacefully."

Question: What is the best way to teach thankfulness? Appreciation?

RA: In the world, often in the so called spiritual arenas, people become selfish. The use one thing, one teaching, this retreat, that book, this person to help them, then they go to the next thing. they take and do not give. So they feel empty within. Be gracious. Say 'thank you'. 'Please.' Remember what people do for you. Appreciate your blessings. Everything that you have been given. Be gracious in your interactions. Apologize to people you have hurt . This is the natural expression of God within you. Of the Self. Without talking about it. Children will observe this. They will remember this.

"Never strike a child. Never frighten a child. Your role is to put your child first, not last. Why? You child is your service, to God. Your child is your spiritual practice. Protect your child from the vile things of this world. Bring joy, happiness to your child. Teach them the three virtues. When they trust in the virtues, their suffering lessons. They become what they see you do. If you gossip, are angry, resentful, ungrateful and so on, no matter how much you meditate, memorize spiritual sayings, go to retreats, you will learn from how you act. Therefore, show deep loving kindness. ,Give to others, practice benevolence."

"The best thing you can teach a child is to do the right thing. In this way, he acts from his true nature."

The Benevolence Project Requests Prayerful Practices on Behalf of The Children Detained

Each Sunday at Ten am PST The Robert Adams Institute and Benevolence Project is now holding a special unified prayer intercession service for the children detained at this time.

Intercession and Intervention

"When one has had a realization of Truth, one has no choice but to intervene to alleviate the suffering of others. It is a joyful realization. This is beautiful. One who realizes eternity, cannot simply 'observe' others suffering. 'Satsang', 'sadhana', spiritual practices, faith, is the way you live your life, not merely a formal activity."

"It is good to pray for those that are suffering. Pray to be guided what to do to help them." "Pray to God and He will help you." Silence of the Heart."

I have given out so many Harmony With All Life (complimentary download book) books. I love Robert Adams saying, "Even as a child, I could not understand how anyone could hurt an animal!" I have been working for this cause for twenty five years! This truth is finally coming to the mainstream. Without it, we are not true. Here are some pictures that I thought of you all and wanted to share with your peaceful community.... "

SOMETHING NEW. THE POWER AND BEAUTY OF BEAD MEDITATION TO BEAUTIFY YOUR DAILY PATH

“The pull of this world, man’s inhumanity to man, seeming chaotic events, is very strong. Where is your mind all day long? The secret is not to denounce everything around you, become apathetic. Focus instead on what is eternal, beautiful, harmonious. Unchanging. The longer you dwell on these things, the more your consciousness experiences this as reality.

Keep your focus on God throughout the day. You do not have to become upset and then run to spiritual methods-you anchor yourself in this joy, this happiness, this peace first. Then you approach the world. Your so called problems. For joy, peace, harmony, constitute the Unchanging Reality of God. The Supreme. This power supersedes all outer events. You trust in the Supremacy of Goodness. You go deeper and deeper throughout the day. As you work at home, take care of your family, your career. If you go deep enough, your outer life will improve accordingly. This is why we remain consistently engaged in repeating the first name of God, the I AM. Do this with the breath. You may use the words of your faith. But do something. Everyday.”                                                                                                                   Robert Adams

   THE BEAUTY OF BEAD MEDITATION

For hundreds of years the utilization of gems, glass, pearl, jade, wood,  and other materials have been used in many ‘true religions’ (*Robert Adams) to craft beads that enhance and define ones personal spiritual unfoldment, uplift and focus the mind and heart, by counting each prayer, name of God, and holy chant on each bead. From Catholicism to Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism Islam, etc. ‘Malas’ ‘Rosary’ ‘Japa’; the process of repeating the name of God, holy ones, inwardly or outwardly on each bead in a gracious, heartfelt manner.

ROBERT ADAMS ANSWERS QUESTIONS ON PRAYER BEADS

“People ask me about prayer beads in temples. About the rosary. They inquire, “How can simply saying these words over and over help me?” Of course the answer is that you are not simply repeating the words while thinking of something else. Some words are so holy, so filled with God, that they will affect you. Bless you. However, we are speaking of the correct use of so called prayer beads. Now most people’s minds are going up and down like a yo-yo, from happy to sad, from worried to relieved. Then the cycle starts all over again. We are not judging ourselves, we are simply observing this, in order to return to the substratum of happiness that is our unchanging Reality. Of course we must change to do this, not simply pronounce it.

Saying the name of God repeatedly is very powerful. You can do this internally. But do it. Watch what happens. You are lifting yourself up to a beautiful Reality. A bright and shining Reality.  This becomes your Reality. This is the power you have to completely change your day. Your consciousness. The more you do this, the deeper you dive within it, the stronger it becomes. This is not a little thing. Quite the contrary. This brings humility. This opens your heart. It is as if you are in a dark room on a cloudy day, and you are told to ‘face reality. This is life.’ But you do not believe it. You open the door and walk down the path and you discover that the sun is shining brightly behind the clouds as they disperse. But you could not see them from the shadows. It is all up to you, but you must do something. Or you will remain as you are, believing that this is all there is. That there is nothing you can do. “

“Prayer beads are Japa. Repeating the name of God, with your heart open, lifts you above this world. You become a part of something beautiful. You feel this deeply. This strengthens you. It makes unfoldment easier. You will enter the reality of eternal peace. Harmony. Love. You respond to the things that used to upset you from a completely different realization. You do not have to try so hard. You are already experiencing this. Therefore, when you do this, devote yourself to it. Be consistent. You can do it upon waking. Sleeping. If you feel to use prayer beads, you can use them throughout the day. Build a momentum. A momentum of Consciousness. Of Love. You do not just hear the words. You become them.

YOU ARE NOT READING ABOUT IT, YOU ARE EXPERIENCING IT

You begin to realize that this world of the physical is not all there is to life. You are not reading about it, you are experiencing it. And a great weight is lifted from you. You are protected from those people, events, that are of a mean, belligerent, arrogant tendency. Because you are guided away. You are no longer of that delusion. You become a shining beacon for everyone placed in your life. Loved ones, friends, those at your work, all feel a humility, a kindness, peace from you. This is God shining through your human predicament. It has nothing to do with you as a human personality and ego, for that has been surrendered to God. And your life shines beautifully.”    Robert Adams

HOW TO BEGIN - Your Robert Adams Practices
  1. Choose new, unused prayer/mala bead bracelets, rosary, bracelet, in order to begin fresh. Select those that are of the faith of your deepest heart, awakening peace, a sense of beauty, and instant upliftment. It is suggested that one utilize a traditionally created spiritual item originated from a ‘true religion’ of established reverence and purity. The majority have traditions dating back hundreds of years.
  2. Create or choose a sanctuary of peace, harmony and beauty in which to dedicate a minimum of fifteen minutes to in complete absorption. The ancient traditions often utilize the time following using meditation or prayer, Japa beads for reverent pondering, meditation or reflection, dissolving into the Presence of divinity that one is experiencing. You may also alternately simply sit outside in a serene area of nature, directing one’s heart to the ‘vastness’ of the open blue sky, or the ocean.
  3. Care of Japa/meditation beads: Keep beads in a clean, safe, specifically protected spot, unused for any other activity, in order to intensity their power of repeated attunement to God in one focused practice.
  4. Using beads, pearls, strands to a musical recording of chants is a wonderful, easy way to embrace ‘Japa’...

Pondering

"There is a Power That Knows the Way, that will guide and protect you in your unfoldment. The same power that makes the flowers grow and unfold, the sun rise everyday regardless of what is going on in the world, is within you. It is up to you to choose a life conducive to this joy- in your actions and daily efforts. When you have surrendered to the Power That Knows the Way, you will sail through this life. For no matter what happens to you, you will first and foremost, remain in your true nature, love, compassion and humility. Thus you will cease creating incoming repercussions. You will be lifted up into a new reality; eternal omnipresent love. God." RA

Live for Eternity

Most people in the world live entirely for this short experience they are having, day by day, moment by moment, externally. For this brief lifetime. For the temporal pleasure of the moment,  or the immediate future. There is nothing wrong with this, other than when the experience does not arrive, or it is over, they are looking for a new experience. And this does not last long. Then they look for a new one. It never ends. The world teaches you that you must ‘win’, get ahead of other people- limit yourself by age, many labels, allow all sorts of difficulties into your life. And we think this is normal. However, what you do with this moment creates your next experience. It is not null and void.

Ask yourself honestly; am I living for this temporal moment, or for eternity? For if you are living for eternity, you are very honest yourself about your true thoughts, your words, your actions, how you affect other people, your decisions. You are living for your radiance, your magnificence, for The Supreme. Again, nothing is null and void. Everything has a reaction. As you sow so shall you reap. Yet, at the same time, you have the power to completely change everything in this lifetime. This lifetime is a very auspicious opportunity. What are you doing with it? The mass consciousness on earth are simply creating more karmas, over and over again.

Of course, I am not saying that you should never go anywhere, not enjoy the beauty of this world, this life. Many so called spiritual people become strange. They live only for themselves, they take care of no one else, they never go anywhere. This is not what we are talking about here. If you love to go sailing, hiking, swimming, to hear music, this is wonderful. But when that is over, what are you doing? For the one who Knows the Truth, each experience is a joy, they see God in every person. They become a living embodiment of compassion. Selfless service to others; this is a joy. They can do nothing else when they see someone suffering. They must alleviate the suffering of others When you live for eternity, you see eternity in each moment. Each action.

v

This becomes your direct experience rather than words. You feel eternity, infinity in your meditation, your prayers, your singing holy songs. Then you begin to feel this in your daily life. And of course, this feels like bliss. For infinity, eternity, exists in the unchanging reality of pure bliss. But you as a human have been born here on earth in order to choose the spiritual things of life. As you unfold, this becomes a natural choice. You are living for eternity. Beyond this temporary experience. Yet you wish to create an experience conducive to illumination, unfoldment. One of joy. How to begin?

Begin at the beginning. With your spiritual practices. This is most important to you- do not fool yourself. For until you actually feel this peace, this bliss, this harmony, it is all just words. Faith is important, true faith comes from the heart of God. You must enter the heart of God. And this brings us back to your practices of your faith. Many students have come to me to tell me that everything has become so much easier-their family, their career, their interactions with others- when they began to devote themselves to morning and evening pondering the Dialogues, meditating, holy chant. For you rise above the pull of this world. You get a taste of Reality. Infinity. And this begins to last longer and longer.

Now of course, some people simply get a bigger ego, become secretly pompous when they hear spiritual words, and they believe they are above this, above jumping deeply into God. It is all dry head knowledge. You must have the love. You must love others, be willing to go out of your way to help others. As you lift yourself up, incoming karmas become smaller.

This moment is eternal in Reality. There is no end to it. It is infinite.  It is eternal happiness divine which is the substratum of your existence, upon which the outer temporal events occurring. It behooves you to practically experience this peace, this happiness, to surrender to this Reality of The Supreme several times a day, until you are lifted into the Truth of Life. Until you feel this. This provides the awakening to the strength, the harmony, the interior realization that this world has no power over you, for You are a child of God. But you must make the effort to do these things each day. Immerse yourself in selfless activities of great love.

Stop and lift yourself up to the Truth in the moment. Not the external moment of simply stopping activity. But the joy, the Presence of That which truly sustains you. Which ordains your life. Do not just live for now, live for eternity. Surrender in humble joy to That which is above this world and suffering subsides. Peace. Peace. Peace.

Robert Adams on Jesus. A Beautiful Easter Pondering: Reconciliation and The Beatitudes

"The holy days are very powerful Jesus is the master of compassion. If everyone did what Jesus taught, everyone would be Illumined. But who is willing to do this? This is why Jesus taught to not come to the alter until you have made peace with your brother. To love your neighbor as yourself. To make peace before you pretend that you are spiritual, offer peace. Reconciliation. This is the Truth. When in despondency, doubt, confusion, follow the Beatitudes. The Golden Rule. Ponder this carefully. These are the same as the Yamas and Niyamas. This is how you must conduct yourself in this life in order to unfold. You must surrender your heart to this. Surrender your actions everyday to this. This hastens unfoldment. For this is unchanging, eternal Truth. Compassion to all of life. Loving Kindness. Everything else is quotes, memorization, dry head knowledge. Do not underestimate the Teaching of Jesus. For selflessness, mercy, brotherhood, purity, holiness, this is the nature of Eternal Unchanging Truth.

Therefore, rejoice in the splendor and glory!"

Be As A Flower

by Robert Adams

Truth is very simple.

A flower does not try to be beautiful.

Its True Nature is Beauty.

It exudes fragrance, beauty. Perfection.

Just by its very Being.

In the same way, when you awaken

to your True Nature,

You will naturally exude love, compassion, beauty. it is all You.

For it is your True SELF.

Spiritual Spring Cleaning

"What is the result of interior unfoldment? Joy. Peace. Loving Kindness to others. Compassion. That lasts longer and longer. You will radiate the fruits of your efforts to all." Robert Adams

In this season of spiritual celebrations and in- depth honoring of ones faith, Lent, Easter, various faiths, together in brotherhood, we take a deeper look into the rich methods of Robert Adams pure form Teaching. This month we examine the rich offering of the blossoming of inquiry as a tool of accelerated unfoldment into freedom from confusion, suffering and despondency of heart. In modern life most 'sincere spiritual aspirants' following 'a true spiritual pathway' find obstacles, delays and events appearing to pull one away. In this video, the sage addresses, with powerful encouragement and truth that our inner radiance can clear the so called obstacles by preparing ones life in clean spirituality as we approach spiritual truth in "resplendent life transformation". A fresh new beginning anchors us in Ultimate Reality, God. Robert Adams simply refers to the transcendent levels of consciousness as dimensions, as the petals of a flower unfolding. (* Explained in greater depth in A New Reality: The Fourth Dimension of Life) We notice 'How are we doing?" We gently reboot our efforts. The results are profound.

The Robert Adams Classic Compassionate Inquiry Method

In the spring, new fresh opportunities for rebirth, grace and love emerge. If one is so guided to expand ones perspective of life, events, relationships, with the method of gentle Robert Adams Inquiry, compassionately observing one’s life peacefully 'a step back’, from a refuge of peace, 'happiness arises', stress and suffering subside. Be lifted up as Robert Adams shares his experience in his unique, in- depth clarification of distinction, in introducing this practice for peaceful illumination-as he did to the West prior to cultural exposure to it.

Here, Robert Adams preparatory guidance of noted 'purification' prior to engaging in this powerful understanding, results in palpable floods of fresh freedom. Freedom from a lifetime of thinking 'I am only a mere human suffering, I am my problems. This critical foundation includes a pivotal pre-established personal lifestyle of fundamental 'peace and good', devoid of harm, tempers on others, etc. Robert Adams particularly distinctive method of 'compassionate self-inquiry' is rooted in the foundation of his own transcendent personal experience as a child of 'jumping into God', in which all disappeared into pure bliss, tender love, compassion, benevolence, God.

In his kind understanding of the cultural collective consciousness, his simple guidance to rather immerse oneself more in inspirational music, chant, prayer, ancient breathing serenity, will 'make this easier'.(self inquiry)

Enjoy the beloved gentle sages talk in this lovely spring garden video, as he often spoke in his own family flower gardens to his inner circle, on his Inquiry, this immersion in comforting peace beyond understanding, the Presence of God, activating ones personal growth into beautiful states of illuminated unfoldment.

v

"When practicing Inquiry, do not forget the love. Be very gentle. Do not force yourself to 'remove' yourself from life. To become apathetic. You are simply observing what is occurring from a place of love, benevolence, compassion. To do this correctly, you must have removed your bad habits as I describe. You are not a cold orb. You will know if you are doing this correctly by the love you feel, the peace. It becomes natural to help others, to bring peace wherever you go.

You are no longer drawn to compete with others, harbor resentments, fear, anger, gossip. You are truly at peace. Really. You cannot pretend that you are. You realize that 'you' exist in resplendent perfect peace in your heart, regardless of the situation around you. Yet you must act as this is so. You must reflect this peaceful freedom from enslavement to your problems as warm heartedness in the world. Non-harm. For this is your true Self. You will not be attracted to telling others to 'observe' everything, to bothering other people, to brush others off. No one of illumination acts in such a way.

Therefore, check yourself. You lift yourself up. Thus, one who is truly unfolding has no desire to take drugs, to participate in vile activities, for they are having blissful, (ecstatic) experiences naturally. 'Experientially'.

Simply dedicate yourself to these new practices daily. Holy activities, devotions, selfless service, chant, when done consistently, will purify your human self, to progress greatly."

"Transcending Your Life"

"Never think not throwing anger at someone means you must be passive in the face of injustice. That you simply observe others being hurt; children, animals without interceding. Quite the contrary. You become a living conduit of compassion. Peace. You have no option but to alleviate the suffering of others. You realize that others suffering is your own for there is no separation. Thus, you lift yourself up."

Ponderings

"Never become apathetic. Never brush people off. If you are truly unfolding, you treat everyone with respect, dignity, compassion. Do not believe that illumination means to simply watch, observe others suffering, to believe you know more than them. You have memorized more spiritual words. One who has realized Truth has no desire to pronounce, "I am all pervading, I am Consciousness. I am vast." To whom are they pronouncing this? They would have no desire to pronounce this for they have a deep interior realization.

Therefore be very careful of those who pronounce, 'I love everyone, I am love. I only have love." Look at ones actions. This reflects ones spiritual stature. If you are feeding the hungry, visiting the lonely, comforting a friend, you are love. If you go out of your way for someone with no acknowledgement. This is spirituality. Do not become idle. Do not let your life pass you by thinking you are unfolding. Do something today. Become a beautiful asset to this world."

"Never think that you can 'get away' with something. The lords of karma are always watching. On this earth you are under the laws of karma. When you must make a decision, an action, read the Yamas and Niyamas. The Beatitudes. This will help you."

Dear Friend,

Peace be with you. The Teaching has always been and currently available as a complimentary offering to Youth Organizations, Women at Risk, Rehab Clinics and the financially challenged. Robert Adams speaks often on the topic of spiritual 'bad behavior'. Please see beloved Mrs. Adams letter to students on the Fact Check per wise discernment. The Sage never distributed his Talks en masse at any time. He spoke rarely, weekly, primarily counseling globally by phone from his private home daily. His gracious audience formed an artful centerpiece in which audience guests and students left donations for a transcript in the ancient tradition of respect.

Robert Adams Speaks: "The spiritual path is not for everyone. That is why these talks are for those with a deep understanding of beginning spiritual precepts. The Yamas and Niyamas. The Golden Rule. If you are still hurting others, if you are still defending bad actions, you must first transcend this. That is why I say this earth is on the third grade of evolution. People are still learning not to hurt one another. How to behave. It is for this reason that ancient spiritual teachings required initiations. I do not give initiations. Yet most Westerners do not yet know The Golden Rule."

A Fresh Spring Look At The Three Virtues

"Without which one cannot progress."

There are three main virtues that you have to acquire in order to become liberated. There are three virtues that are most important, most important for you to achieve, before 'awakening'. Enlightenment. Every 'enlightened' person on this earth, everyone who as been liberated has had these virtues. You cannot be liberated (*"liberation from enslavement to earthly suffering") has had these virtues. You cannot be liberated, cannot awaken without them.

The first one is compassion.

The second one is humility.

The third is love-service. (love based alleviation of the suffering of others.)

Compassion means reverence for all of life. You respect everything, everything is alive. There is no such thing as 'dead' matter. Too many students, ("devotees" "non-duality" people) go around shouting, "I am one with this, I am one with tat. Everything is absolute reality." and yet they have so many bad habits. I am telling you, that you have to give up certain things, and develop higher qualities, which is Right.

l

You have the total freedom to turn within and not to react to life's situations. So everything is pre-ordained, and at the same time you have the freedom to turn within.

Compassion is very important. Think of the times you could have had compassion, and you didn't. We must all have a Great Compassion for every animal on this earth. If we had a compassion like this, would we eat meat?

We must have a great compassion for everything that exists. This is reconciling ourselves with the entire universe. This is important.

It is your duty to help anyone who comes into your atmosphere. Anyone who comes into your life must be helped.

Some of us wonder why we have been on this path for along time and we do not seem to make much progress. It is because your compassion is not big enough.

Humility

Humility is very, very important. Everybody wants to win a point. Win an argument. Win a fight. And yet if you have humility, it never comes into your mind to win or to get even.

Humility is karmic. Karma is like stepping on a rake and it hits you in the head-cause and effect. ("As you sow so shall you reap.") the cause is that you stepped on the rake, the effect is the handle that hits you on the head. This is our karma. Everything that goes around comes around - you step on the rake, but the handle does not hit you immediately. It may hit you years later, or in another incarnation but you will get hit on the head. So. There is immediate karma, and there is future karma.

The only way to get rid of this is to have tremendous humility. Say somebody slaps you. The first thing (our ego tells) is to beat them up and slap them back. Get even with them. But, if we are wise, we will understand the reason we were slapped in the face. And of course, somewhere, somehow, this is the karma returning to us, and if we retaliate, we are setting new karma in motion, which will return to us later. Therefore, anything that as ever happened to you in any area of your life, no matter how it looks, you are in your right place.

If you cooperate, and do not react, and do not retaliate, and you send out a message of love and peace, then you transcend tat karma, and it will never come back again. But, if you retaliate, and you try to 'win' the battle, you may appear to be 'winning' the battle this instant, you may appear to be getting somewhere, but the fruits of your actions must return sooner or later. Therefore, you are replaying games with yourself, you will never get anywhere. You will keep repeating the situation again and again, with different people. You may move to a different state and be involved in a different situation, but you still find the same problems.

Therefore, whatever seems wrong in your life, whatever seems terrible, do not look at the problem in itself as a problem. RISE above it. This is humility. You are not a coward. You are not a wimp. have risen above that kind of thinking. There kind of thinking does not exist.

Q: How can we comprehend humility?

Robert: By becoming it.

Think of the times in your life that you could have had compassion and you did not. For your thoughts interfered, and you came to a conclusion, basically, the thoughts came to your head; for instance, you see a homeless person who asks you for a couple of dollars. It makes no difference why he wants the couple of dollars. Whether he wants to buy some whisky, or he wants to buy some bread, or what he wants to do It is your duty to help one who comes into your atmosphere.

Anyone who comes into your life must be helped. It is no accident that this homeless person came to you. Do not turn him away, for by turning him away you are turning your Self away. This is compassion.

"Our mission on this earth is to be of service to humanity."

The third virtue is love-service. Our mission on this earth is to be of service to humanity. AS you are trying to unfold, as we are trying to raise ourselves to a higher state , to become liberated, to become totally free, be of service to all you can, without looking for anything in return. Serve everyone you meet. Ask people what you can do for them to make their lives happier and brighter. Be of total service to everyone.

It is written that the first shall be last, and the last first. If you try to put your ego up front, and you want fame and name and recognition, you will be beaten down and will have all kinds of problems that come with achieving fame and name-in Truth you are not the 'doer', the body, you are not the mind, "YOU (the divine YOU) are total Freedom. YOU are already 'liberated'. But, this is intellectual with some of us. Therefore, practice these three virtues, and you will be amazed at how fast you become free.

The Pure- Form Original Teaching of Robert Adams

k

"Never Say Nothing is Real. God, as the World, is Real. Your Job is to Reflect Reality, The Compassion of God in Your Life." Robert Adams

"Rise with the sun, be a radiant conduit of happiness for others each day. Do not become idle, debating discussing, withdrawing. Instead, simply treat others as you wish for them to treat you."

Questions and Answers

Question: Do you think that worshipping God, or believing in God, impedes realization?

Robert: On the contrary, worshipping God makes you pure. It makes you pure enough so that you can follow the I back to the source, whereas, if you did not worship God, you would just know everything intellectually, and you would have a hard heart. Worshipping God softens you up, makes you mellow, kind, causes you to become one pointed, and lifts you higher. So, by all means, worshipping God is good. But what kind of God will you worship? Worshipping God in the form of a sat-guru, or in the form of a Buddha, or a Christ, whatever, is even better.

For if you worship God without form, the energy is not as strong. For what kind of a God are you worshipping? An invisible God that has no form, no shape. Therefore you have doubts. You're not too sure, and the energy you send out is not that strong. But when you worship God as form, you can give that God all of your energy or totally surrender to that particular deity. That's the purpose of worship, to finally, totally surrender your ego, your pride, your body, your affairs, your life, to that deity. And then you become that deity itself.

Question: Is it better to focus on one form?

Robert: Yes, of course, for you become one pointed. It causes your mind to become one- pointed. And then your mind becomes your servant, and finally the mind disappears. It's like the sun. When the sun spreads its rays all over the place, it's not as powerful as if one ray of the sun moved to a certain place. A fire would start. That's how powerful it is. But when the sun dissipates its rays, they're not as powerful. In the same way, when you worship many deities, you dissipate your energy, and the worship is not as powerful.

Things To Do Everyday

1. "Spend time everyday in nature, with animals, with the innocent gentle beings of this world. Look up at the vast blue sky. Experience God, The Supreme, in the beauty of nature.

2. Take care of someone other than yourself. Many spiritual seekers become very self absorbed, They talk about spiritual things, debate, read many different books, think about themselves all day. They do nothing for anyone other than themselves. If you wish to know someones true spiritual state, ask them to go out of their way to help someone else without any reward.

Feed someone else, support another being, take care of another being. Go out of your way to make someone else happy. In this way you experience your true nature. This purifies you. You return to your True Self. "Selfless service to others is an important part of unfoldment."

3. Jump into God everyday. When despondency, fear, sadness arises, jump into God until you feel the peace. Do not do this superficially. Do not force yourself to be artificial; have a joyful experience. Sing, meditate, pray. Dive deeper than the day before into God. No matter what happens, take time to do this regardless. Do not stop until you have experienced True Reality, Omniscient Peace. Love. The Reality that does not change, regardless of outer circumstances. As the sun always remains behind the changing clouds, this Reality is your Reality Now. It is up to you to experience this everyday.

Everything will change for the better.

4. Live a life of non harm. Do not participate in vile activities, vile, violent movies, 'adult' movies, angry people, for it is all your choice where you place your mind. There your consciousness will abide. You will become that. Therefore abide amidst that which is of God, of the Self; love, compassion, peace, humility, service to alleviate the suffering of others. This life is very short. Place your human mind, emotions, on That which lifts you up. You wish to rise. In doing so, suffering will subside. For this is your natural state.

l
5. Do not utilize spiritual terminologies to excuse bad behavior. Follow the Golden Rule. To to others what you want others to do to you.
6. Be of selfless service. This brings holiness. Feed the hungry. Tithe. Give to the poor. Visit the lonely. Cheer up someone who is sad. This is a spiritual practices. This is sadhana. This is very important. This purifies you, brings holiness.

7. Fulfill your dharma. Develop your gifts. You do not give up your gifts, you become a better parent, doctor, dentist. Do not become idle. Become an asset to this world. Never think that is is more spiritual to do nothing. Your life will be over before you know it. Make a life that is bright and shining.
8. If you enjoy sailing, running, concerts, continue to do these things, but offer them up to God in your heart. Say 'Here God, I am enjoying myself as a human being, I offer this happiness up to you wile it is occurring.' This will expand the happiness into eternal joy. "

"Within You Is Unimaginable Beauty"

"I Welcome You With All My Heart"

Dear Friends,

Welcome to The Robert Adams Institute Studentship Community Twenty-Second Year Anniversary!

"Our Mission On This Earth Is To Be Of Service To Humanity."

To those beloved students who have grown up in our international Robert Adams Institute family studentship, our Robert Adams Original Inner Circle Studentship of over four decades,, and those arriving,

may this be a beautiful sanctuary of refuge in which to abide daily in peace of heart, within the reality of brotherhood founded on love, compassion, humility. "You must have a sense of brotherhood with all."

THE GLORY AND THE SPLENDOR

As we enter into the New Year in the 'Glory and Splendor" of the Teaching of Robert Adams, we enjoy the potent transformative transmissions of the New Third Lesson Series of Pure Form Original Dialogues of Robert Adams in our wonderful Thursday Evening Studentship, dialogues that he selected specifically for those embracing his Teaching in great depth, "the sincere aspirant with a pure heart." The beauty, grace, gentility and palpable peace of his shared personal experience defines a rare offering of uncompromised purity, "for those who unfold as a flower unfolds its petals." Thank you for your loving kindness in brotherhood. "This is a practical teaching. You become an asset to this world. You perceive the radiance, love, behind the temporal events, and you reflect this love."

The discerning student of Truth, wishing to 'reap the rewards of their efforts' in a life bright and shining, rich in spiritual progression and freedom, "in which suffering subsides." is lifted. Robert Adams humbly offers a rare blessing of Truth, in which 'happiness bubbles up' in a real, authentic, and experiential manner in which we rise...remembering the graciousness and goodness that is our foundation. In his pure perception of the human soul, Robert Adams explains the exquisite value of devotedly applying the methods in a peace- founded, yet vibrant, contemporary life transformation. Speaking free of charge to seekers, he explains in great depth that he never distributes printed talks to the general public en masse, but to those deeply called from within to a gentle dedication, on a donation basis honor system, in the ancient tradition of sage and seeker. " This is not for everyone. I am calling you to a higher vision. Your life becomes more beautiful, kind, compassionate. It is up to you."

We wish to thank those who graciously, with big hearts, collected, donated and distributed toys in their areas for the children, in the tradition of Robert Adams, including Friends of Amma, who selflessly share their hearts yearly. May this coming year unfold into a peaceful, gentle radiance within, in which we become "living vehicles of love, compassion, and humility." Together, in brotherhood, may we live the Truth of which we ponder. Happy New Yea rich in blessings to you and your loved ones!

In love omniscient,

The Robert Adams Institute

Let There Be Peace On Earth. Robert Adams opening and closing song at his early dialogues.

How Does the Heart Open?

Through love. Through devotion. Through devotion to That Self (God).

Many people do not understand this.
They discuss it, they memorize it, and they read books about it. The years pass, and one may become a walking encyclopedia, but you have hardly made any progress. To make progress there has to be devotion.

You have to love your Self-not what you appear to be-but The Self, God. When you truly become devotion/a Bhakti, and you love your Self, (God within) the Self you love becomes omnipresence, all-pervading.

So naturally, automatically, you love everybody in this world, animals, insects, insentient and sentient beings, everything.

You can only do that when you open your heart and you love your Self. That person, becomes Self Realized.

I have never known a person who had a cold heart who was Self Realized. It is impossible. You have to open yourself to the universe.

You have to have a great compassion. Loving kindness. And that is when everything happens.

Robert Adams

"How To Live? The Golden Rule

Do to others what you want others to do to you. This is a universal law. This is a holy law. This should guide all of your actions."

v

The Eternal Light
"Within You is The Light of a Thousand Suns.
Let the true sun shine forth. How do we do this?
By remembering to identify with the qualities of our true Self; God within our heart. Benevolence. Boundless compassion. Loving kindness. Omnipresent peace. Harmony. Joy. We do this everyday, regardless of what is happening to us. No matter what appears to have befallen us. For this power-this light Supreme, is stronger than anything in this world. It is eternal, unchanging. Therefore, as we begin to deeply identify with this in all circumstances, we begin to perceive the Light behind all of life. And we cannot help emanating this bright shining Light of Reality. Truth. We become a living conduit of that light Supreme. The sun always shining behind the temporal clouds. For That is who we really are.
Robert Adams

nHow to Have A Happy Life

Be Gracious. Thank Those That Have Helped You.

"Be Gracious. Say "Thank you for what you have done for me. " Say "I'm sorry." This is a gracious universe. You may move on but your karma does not. Make peace with all, forgive all, correct your mistakes. This brings happiness. For we cannot continue our ill will, gossip, arrogance, meanness, hurting others, brushing others off, and experience true happiness. We must rise above all words, actions, that are not of the Self, compassion, loving kindness. But we must be genuine. So many people in the West take, take, take from others, many paths, many people, and they never give anything back. They forget what blessed them."

"This Happiness is the Substratum of your Existence. Everything outward is taking place on this Substratum, as a movie being played on a movie screen. You are the pure, spotless screen. Nothing that has ever happened to you has ever affected the screen. Nothing that will ever happen to you will affect the purity of your true nature. Nothing that has been shown on the screen has changed its true nature. What is this nature? Happiness. Boundless Love, Compassion, Omniscient Bliss. This who you are. Live accordingly.

This state is above and beyond self- absorption. It is as if you are suddenly stunned by a boundless, beautiful sunset, and you forget yourself completely. This is a minute, tiny inkling of what True Happiness feels like when you forget your human self and your self-concerns. This happiness is the substratum of your existence. But you are identifying with the outer events that are superimposed as a movie upon a screen.

Ever changing, incoming events. Some are happy, some are not, but none are permanent. All the while, the screen remains pure. Permanent. In this way, your true essence of Supernal Happiness remains untouched by all temporal circumstances; by the events shown on the screen of the real 'You'. When you truly realize this, when it becomes an interior realization rather than mere words, you will begin to feel this truth by emanating the qualities of the real You, Boundless Love, Compassion, outwardly. For you will be living in your true Self." Happiness This Moment

"This book has been my happiness bible ever since I got it. I always laugh at his humor and then it really sinks in, without the trendy pop culture pushing you to feel happy when you are not. Robert Adams really delves into the whole gamut of truly feeling loved and happy, illuminating the breadth of his own experience of it. This encourages me to 'jump into' the methods with no pressure. Very moving. I used to just read it for upliftment, then after a couple hard life knocks, i realized what he was really doing, uncovering layers of beautiful-ness that really remains at our disposal, 'this moment" within our true nature. P.S. Love the new lessons, what a gem, after these years of awaiting.... thank you. Look forward to the next chanting event."

Holiday Christmas Sharings

Dear Robert Adams Institute precious friends; thank you. This holiday time, thank you for everything you shine seamlessly for others! So grateful the sages site is live. I wanted to take a time for a shout out to my lesson student class so thoughtfully hosted by Anna Li, And Roberts teachers leading us. As I reflect on this year and the many 'teachers' that appear, for the new year i realized Robert Adams is the end game. Though my peers mistakenly list him with current teachers, his loyalty to the purity of Vedantic ethics did not sway. When I stopped eating meat and smoking, as he said they just fell away'. Gently. Like him. Smoking was hard. Eating meat was not. The meditations became easier.

Your vessel is crystal. I open your site everyday for my reflection. I recall that he said Westerners take and take, but often do not give and do not really change for better. This year, I will take this to heart. With sincere gratitude, Mira. (Miras blog "everything divine and more.') Chicago USA

Questions and Answers On Jesus

v

The Teaching of Jesus of Nazareth

Questions and Answers with Robert Adams

Q: You said that one can achieve the liberation of the soul, that is illumination, by devotion to Jesus.

RA: Yes

Q: Yet how can I believe the things I read in the Bible when you don't know if it has been changed...

RA: I said devotion to Jesus. If ones heart is pure, then the Truth of all true scriptures, words of pure Truth, is received. These scriptures are protected. Truth is protected. You will receive what you need. Focus on Jesus.

Q: If this is my path, can I do devotion and inquiry?

RA: Yes, If you are doing this correctly. There is no difference. Both must have surrender of the heart to the Supreme.

Q: What if I focus on consciousness of Christ, will I get the same result?

RA: No, for one is not the other. You want a personal surrender of the heart. To a pure being of selfless love. Absolute omniscient Truth. Nothing else. Yet the heart feels for human suffering. If that is your path, you must devote yourself completely with all of the love in your heart to the person and the path. He will guide you.

Q: I have a difficult time with understanding the crucifixion. This is alien to me. I sense that from your words, you understand this is hard to accept. What was the purpose of this?

RA: What is the purpose of giving up your life for your sick child? Love. Jesus said destroy this body (temple) and in three days I will raise it up. It is love. Selfless love. He knew the consciousness of man at the time. People do not like the truth of realizing what they are doing. By this, I mean the cruelty, the meanness. The vile activities. He showed them the supremacy of Goodness is God. This is how we are to live. Yet he made it personal. Most people do not like that. (laughter) Truth is how you live your life, not spiritual discussions, lectures or retreats. Satsang is how you live your life, not something you go to. He showed that the show of religious activities and laws was often cruel. True religion is pure loving kindness. He only did Good. Therefore, as the selfless voice and Will of God, he suffered in the physical out of a divine love for the souls he was teaching. He knew what was to come. But his love was stronger. This is beyond the comprehension of this earth. He remains. Beyond the crucifixion. This is understood by the great saints.

m

Q: As a child I felt very blissful in the church we went to, but then I believed that you can meditate outside or anywhere...but I didn't feel the same result..

RA: Yes. This is because places where groups of people are sincerely focused- experiencing God become filled with this. This takes over the worldly thoughts and problems. This is blessed. You feel this upon entering. You can meditate outside. But If you are not going deep, if you are not advanced, you may not feel it as strongly. This is the benefit of true religions. Churches. Temples. They are saturated with Absolute Reality, the Presence.

Q: You said the scripture says God is not mocked, as you sow you will reap. Is this the law of karma?

RA: Yes.

Q: I was reading last night that the end result of everything in the Bible if you do it correctly I mean, is joy. love. Is this the happiness that is our true nature, or is this a reward for acting in universal laws?

RA: This is the joy that is the backdrop of everything that is occurring in the temporal world. It is our real nature. Therefore, when we identify with this joy of God, act from this, speak from this, ponder this, it becomes our life. Happiness is our origin. It is not a vague neutral void. The love you feel for your loved ones, for that which is of your heart here on earth, is but a glimmer of the joy I am speaking of. It is beyond imagining.

Q: You said you began in mystical Christianity.

RA: Yes

Q: Did this include the blissful states of inner awareness?

RA: The blissful ecstatic states occur as God is experienced, in your path. The great Christian ecstatic saints were in this bliss. This happened from a great love.

Q: How would anyone develop a path or relationship with Jesus if it was so long ago and he was crucified?

RA: He is present here, right now. There is no death. He is beyond time and space. It is pure love. This path is personally given out of personal love. A true illumined being never goes anywhere. He is aware of you. It is a universal law. Knock and the door will be opened. Ask and you will receive. If your heart is pure, if you attempt to follow the divine laws of non harm in word and deed...you will perceive the presence more intensely.

Q: Do you believe in the formal prayers he advised, or speaking from your heart or just observing what is going on in the exchange?

RA: Do each and feel your heart. Which one is effective in your experience of omniscient love? The peace that passeth understanding? It is good to follow a formal prayer at times, for you surrender your human mind, into a higher activity. You apply yourself to the words as Absolute Truth, not mental repetition. This is powerful. This can be beautiful.

CHRISTMAS with Robert Adams

"Rejoice and be of good cheer! Bring happiness, comfort to others at this time of year. Dive even more deeply into God and you will reap the benefits of the mass consciousness that is focused on God at this time. Read beautiful scriptures. Enjoy the fun and festivities! Each time you bring happiness, each time you alleviate the suffering of others, is a holy act. Visit the housebound. Give toys to children. Be a conduit of joy."

"Many students always ask me how they can enjoy the holidays with all of the commercialism? Of course, I say that you will see what you look for. To give gifts to others is good. Instead of disliking what others are doing, be happy and rejoice. This is a very auspicious time. People all over the world are thinking about God. This is very good. Become as a child. See the world with the wonder of a child. Raise yourself above that which 'you', your mind, does not like. Observe your actions with great heart. Make Christmas beautiful for someone else this year. Serve others. Visit the poor and make their environment happy. Give them things that make their lives easier. Alleviate the suffering of children. Enjoy lighthearted festivities. Smile at everyone, from your heart. If you utilize this time of the year to become a living conduit of peace and harmony, to go out of your way for others, without thinking of yourself, without looking for a return, this will be a wonderful Christmas!"

"On Christmas we fill our house with children, toys, presents. This surprises many people. They think I want to be alone and quiet. There is a time for everything. You do not want to become self absorbed. Your ego becomes enlarged. You think "Oh I am really spiritual! I do nothing at Christmas I am going to meditate." Of course, you can do this whenever you wish, yet to go out of your way for others at this time is beneficial."

In Her Fathers Garden

From the Memoirs of Robert Adams Family and the 'Golden Tribute' Tribute Video

Daily Life With Robert Adams. The Holy Days

We always know it is officially Christmas when our father walked into the living room with his large fruit cake that arrived from the monastery made by monks that he ordered every year, and his dairy less egg nog. We knew that he would begin hiding presents around the house for the next few weeks. On Christmas morning the presents filled the living room and out through the door. Dad loves to bring joy to others and preferred the company of the gentle and pure, protecting and providing for abandoned and abused children. Mother and grandmother made huge exotic multi cultural feasts at a formal linen covered candlelit table that relatives, students and friends filled, more and more each year. Treating "The Guest as God" was taken literally in our family, as naturally as breathing air. A potent honor of the beauty of tradition melded with a love for the whimsical and humorous that naturally united hearts in innocence.

Touched by his adherence to the Vedic traditions of householder, his traditional yet deeply sensitive and loving celebration of the holy day included a morning Christmas service at a beautiful cathedral and a Christmas concert. We went to see the nutcracker ballet. He never canceled a family event for a public talk, and often had children on the stage with him as he spoke. Our most sacred memory is the highly colored fabric childrens bibles he gave us with our names engraved in them, my Mother Teresa large coffee table book of her life and activities which inspired me to begin a Mother Teresa co workers group in high school. The completion of this sense of the sacred, glowed in light of service in humility and joy in generously giving without thinking one is 'giving' when we always brought home a child from the local convent orphanage, the head nun knew our father well.

The child spent a Christmas day with us, covered in loving hugs, presents of uplifting, fairy tale beauty and inspiration, and ate until they could eat no more. Afterwards, the child sat with us and our family of loving animals in the candlelit beautifully decorated living room, and talked about his life concerns as father reassured him of his power to create a good, wonderful life, and that God was taking care of him. When we dropped the child back at the orphanage, the cheery, stout, selfless nun would wave happily at us hugging the child in welcome, and I noticed a spark of determination in her eyes to change suffering chidlrens lives, as she twinkled acknowledgement to my parents, knowing exactly how much more than a toy and a dinner that child received that Christmas.

It was a light to guide them through troubled darkness, their heart uplifted their faith ignited, and she was very aware of exactly where she was sending each child what each child needed the most. The childs expression had softened and changed to a quiet happiness by the time we dropped them home. Today, we do the same with the children in the local childrens home, offering a refuge of guidance, comfort and unconditional love, in the Reality of the uncompromised omniscient compassion that is our true Self, the heart of God.

Prayer Beads, Malas, Rosary. Robert Adams on Ancient International Spiritual Traditions

"Saying the name of God lifts you above this world. If you are sincere, you become acclimated to love, compassion, peace. Your entire being rises. Prayer beads have been used for centuries for this purpose. The rosary is the same thing. Japa. This is the holy practice of saying the name of God, repeatedly, with love in your heart.

Do this when you are despondent, when fear or confusion arises. This is a powerful practice."

The Mystic Veneration of the Divine: Reverently Repeating the Name of God

"You are lifted up to the higher realms. But you must do this with love. You must devote yourself to this. This is the ecstasy of the mystics. You have forgiveness, and mercy. One loves Jesus, Mary...God, so much, that they rise above this earth, into bliss- permeated Reality. This is the path of love. Devotion. You dissolve into God."

The Bliss Discourses

The Original Pure Form Bliss Consciousness Teaching By Robert Adams

"When I say "Bliss is your birthright" I am speaking of the direct Presence of God as pure joy. Infinite Perfection. Selfless omniscient love. The direct experience of complete, supernal peace that is unchanging. Now. This includes mastery of the human condition through gracious existence in non: harm. Luminous omnipresence. Vibrant bubbling happiness that is beyond your imagination. Not an abstract happiness that is as a 'void'. An empty orb. A bliss as when you love someone multiplied a trillion times. This is the beginning of Bliss Consciousness. This is the nature of the pure Self. Of your divine Self.

I am not speaking of the human self.

This direct experience is attained by rising above the vile aspects of this world, above the human self with its foils and foibles, in a gentle unfoldment. The way you react when someone makes you angry. When you are selfish, believing that you must achieve something over others. Achieve name and fame, instead of inner unfoldment. Your human condition must reflect your inner experience. You cannot have both.

There are many people going around talking about 'bliss', giving three-hundred-dollar weekend retreats, saying 'You are bliss." that have absolutely no idea what this is. The unfathomable beauty that is infinite, eternal, unchanging. This is not for the masses. The masses do not want to go this deep.

You want to follow the highest, most pure, direct way, for there is only one way, and that is rising to a higher vision. Surrendering the human so called lower nature, mastering oneself, surrendering to a higher reality that is of purity. Love. Once you enter into this unchanging Reality, you never wish to leave. This is what all true religions call you to. There is a point where you only wish to become pure. Kind. If you follow a direct, authentic path established by true masters, you cannot fail. The problem is that Westerners think that they can omit the homework of the saints and sages, and simply become 'bliss'. Because they are talking about it. This is not so.
The more you dive into this Bliss, this all-pervading complete perfection, the easier it is to dissipate the impurity of past samskaras. Your hidden motives, anger, resentments, jealousy, and rise to a higher level of consciousness. Permanently.

You wish to dwell amid the Supreme. The omniscient love that is Reality. This is not achieved by simply stating "I am Bliss." You must achieve holiness by gentle unfoldment. Guidance by one who has done so, for all great paths teach this. If you wish to actually experience your true state of Bliss Consciousness, you must take yourself in hand and follow a direct path of gentle unfoldment, for you cannot go around hurting people, having hidden motives, ruthless ambition, gossip, anger, and achieve bliss consciousness. Quite the contrary.

This is a joyful path of gentle unfoldment into the Self. God. Self, through mastery of the human condition. This is achieved by precise, direct guidance. That lifts you into this state, and your entire outer life begins to reflect this. Goodness is attracted to you, Happiness becomes your friend. You are embarking upon the path of Truth. And if you are sincere, you are protected. Guided by the great spiritual giants. This is not a path of this earth.

You are here because of karma

It behooves you not to create anymore. Be gracious, pure and full of loving kindness. Find joy, fun, and good cheer in your brief journey on this earth, but never forget who you really are. There are a lot of crazy cults, out there teaching nothing is real, it does not matter what you do, or that you can achieve bliss in one week. This has been going on since the beginning of time. Practice wise discernment.

The true sign of beginning to have a direct experience of Bliss Consciousness is the transformation of your human self. Bliss Consciousness permeates everything. Your life changes. You become kinder, gentle, peaceful. Other people do not make you angry, you are not attracted to mean people, gossip, vile actions. Your outer life begins to attract people of kind spiritual stature. You dissolve your bad habits. You rise.

When you have begun to truly experience Bliss Consciousness, you begin to realize a grand humility, a deep humility that brings you to tears, for you realize the grandeur, the magnificence, the love of God. And you no longer resist the Truth. The truth is that you are here purely due to karmas, in order to rise to selfless love.

Many ask me if all events are manifesting out of perfection. This is a very important understanding. Your ego, mind, has free will to make erroneous, mean, selfish, delusionary decisions. The results of this will arise. Is this from perfection? In the sense that one day you will learn the truth, one can say this. But this is not really accurate. Man's inhumanity to man, wars, vile actions to animals, these things are of man's free will, the darkness of delusion. Therefore, they are karmic events causing karmic events. Know this now. Do not accept this worlds vile actions as "Perfection".

Study the laws of Right Action. You will rise to a beautiful, sublime level of understanding. One that is beyond the mind. As you free yourself from involvement in karmic producing activities, you are blessed. You begin to operate on an entirely new level of existence that is so beautiful, so loving, so joyful. You cannot believe that you lived the former life at all. This is one's natural unfoldment. Bliss ensues. Everything is luminous, emanating joy. Happiness. You must seek this.

b

Now, there is much talk of manifesting and creating. There is divine intervention due to prayer, there is Grace. You can utilize your mind to manifest things to an extent, but if you have not realized the ultimate Truth of the Supreme, where will this get you? For you will ultimately keep creating karmas that cause incoming repercussions of suffering, for you have not realized the great Truth. Therefore, your mind keeps thinking this manifestation will be the answer, but without awakening to wisdom of right action, the laws of good, the Golden Rule, how this universe works. You are coming from the mind. Your habits. Your deeply ingrained past samskaras. And you are not guided by The Power That Knows the Way. Therefore, you continue in a circle of ups and downs.

These are the basics

Many people approach me to tell me they are very confused by the word 'Consciousness', as it is often used as head knowledge, devoid of Truth. This is why one must have a true teacher to teach the beginning steps. Before one memorizes words like "Consciousness" and "Bliss Consciousness." Consciousness is God. Omniscient love. Compassion. Surrender to the Supremacy of Goodness. In the West, this is often used to mean simply existing in a neutral state.

This is very dangerous. For this often leads to the false thought that nothing is real, that there are no right or wrongs on this earth, just 'consciousness' and how you look at things. However, Consciousness manifests solely as Good. Compassion. Understanding. Selflessness for others. Giving to others of yourself, helping. Therefore, many create karmic repercussions by thinking anything you do is Consciousness, when it is actually Maya. Ego. Delusion. Man's distortion of free will. They have forgotten about the laws of karma. These are the basics.

v

Without this understanding, one cannot experience divine bliss, the nectar of the Supreme. One stays in head knowledge, and becomes self-absorbed, thinking they do not have to correct themselves, behave responsibly, take care of other people, go out of their way to do the right thing. So, they erroneously believe everything they do is right. Coming from Consciousness. However, this is not so. On this earth, you are under the laws of karma. The ways of the body, the mind, are not always the ways of Consciousness, good, God.

Therefore, many simply look at Consciousness as another way to feel good. It's like using drugs to get high. They make you feel good for a while then when you come down you feel worse, anything that's temporary is an illusion. Consciousness is beyond that, but you must humble yourself to surrender all that is not of the highest good for all concerned, be a good person, understand the laws of The Yamas and Niyamas. Only then can you begin. Only then does the Light of a Thousand Suns reveal itself to you. And all is love.

As a flower gently unfolds its petals, it emits a beautiful fragrance. So it is with spiritual unfoldment. You cannot demand bliss. Bliss Consciousness is divine magnificence. It emits its fragrances as you begin to unfold. It is a natural progression.

.

What is bliss

Most people have no idea what Bliss is. The Bliss Consciousness of which we are referring is the direct experience of God of the ancient Masters, saints and sages that is beyond this world. Beyond all human imagining. Beyond any love you can conceive of. It includes all beings as this pure love. There is a unity of one heart in a great magnificence in which selflessness towards all, a desire to go out of your way to help others, is our natural state. There is no other option. This bliss is divine Grace.

The same bliss, the same joy, that exists within you, unchanging, eternal, also exists within the trees, flowers, all of nature. This joy is Ultimate Reality. Eternal. Omnipresent. All else fades in comparison. The more you surrender your human self to your true Self, the more you experience Bliss Consciousness. By meditating deeply, immersing yourself completely in The Supreme, Bliss arises. For this is the nature of God. This is your True Nature. Yet you must make the effort. When you truly surrender your heart to That Which Does Not Change, omniscient love, the bliss of which I speak becomes your personal Reality.

As you go deeper and deeper within your Heart Center, you find that Bliss Consciousness arises. There is no end to it. It just goes deeper and deeper. It expands more and more. It is your choice to engage in that which is not of this Truth in your daily consciousness, to identify with bad habits, mean actions and all of the foils and foibles of humanhood. When you surrender this, you begin to really unfold within. This is the bliss that is so pure that those who experience it cannot describe it. Cannot even speak of it. This is Perfect Reality, The Supreme. This does not separate you from others. You feel at one with others. You do not leave your responsibilities. You find joy in your responsibilities. This joy is right here and now, this moment. Right where you are. It is a holiness that lifts you into the Truth of your existence.

By 'Bliss', of course I refer to God. All Pervading Perfection includes you, your life and all of your problems, which are dissolved into the bliss, the happiness that is the substratum of your existence. Instead of being a manifestation of your human weakness, identification with problems, your life becomes a manifestation of complete perfection. In this perfection everything is directed by Good, the happiness of all involved."

Real Life -

more on the Robert Adams bliss discourses...

The Bliss Discourses embrace the extemporaneous talks of Robert Adams through over thirty years of introducing the truth of deep, unchanging pure Bliss Consciousness within, as revered globally by "true spiritual masters", traditions, ancient texts, temples, mystic Christianity, shared in his own personal experience. The 'real life' experience of a blissful, ecstatic, joy- permeated ever- present interior Presence that is 'warm hearted' in a compassion for all of life, is included in the majority of spiritual teachings yet called by different names. Identified as the nature of God, of our true Selves as God within, this Presence, 'satori', 'nirvana', 'spirit-filled' is experienced both inwardly and outwardly, often in nature, yet perceived in all of life. This defines the unchanging experience of Illumination, return to an eternal love, often experienced in deep prayer, meditation, devotion, inquiry and selfless service to others as a spiritual practice.
Robert Adams unique introduction of pure, direct, "Bliss Consciousness" in spiritual integrity, devoid of Western misinterpretations, in ethical spirituality, defines the sole Teaching honored by both orthodox and contemporary traditions due to its uncompromising inclusion of personal accountability: purity of ones human actions, ethics and daily consciousness, enabling one to "reap the fruits of your efforts', experiencing that of the 'saints and sages who dwell in Bliss Awareness" offered as an option to a common Western misinterpretations of disowning spiritual responsibility in an attempt to achieve a 'high' or disassociation with ones human identity. In this humble surrender, through natural means of the heart, one is open to the presence of "a direct experience" of "Bliss Consciousness" in a highly personal, loving life transforming unfoldment.

Keeping it Real and Beautiful. Fact Check

"Stay around gentle, peaceful, people full of loving kindness. Words conducive to unfoldment. Beyond appearances. Thus, you will reside in the truth of your existance." Robert Adams SOH

Student Question: Good morning and peace to you. My question is simple. I was blessed immeasurably to attend all of this light filled teachers incredibe talks when he and his wife were invited to Arizona for a year. I went to the amazing parties, kirtans and gatherings in his beautiful home in the loveliest suburb on a hill in town. (I remember the gold bar with formal English teas for arriving teachers from India served by his kind wife.) There were crowds surrounding him. The tourist buses incuded his house as a local celebrity. He was super- joyful and social, even though his body was ill. HIs wife and doc were with him. We went out to eat in student parties and satasang several nights a week. Amazing. Most sacred part of my life. A friend who teaches college just confidently informed me that the sage lived in a cabin in seclusion on his visit there and he never blinked for months! I laughed till I cried, because his family and health workers resided with him. He laughed at 'crazy stories' like this. When I told him he must have a dopplehanger because this never occured he was puzzled. Can you clarify this ridiculousness ? Love, love, love and loving thankfullness for all you do for us. Ann Cohen. Santa Fe NM

Keeping On Track in the Current Cultural Climate

b

Finding Sanctuary and Well Being in the Reality of Unchanging Truth. Peace. Compassion. The Alleviation of the Suffering of Others.

"The pull of this world is very strong. You wish to rise above. This is why we do these methods everyday. To have a direct experience of God. Of Omniscient love. Beyond words."

In the current cultural climate of media saturation in the oppositional forces of justice/injustice, dishonor/honor, in which former fundamental activities appear forgone, we actively continue to immerse ourselves in "The Supremacy of Goodness", the Supreme, unchanging Reality of our origin of omniscient love, peace, compassion that supersede human chaos and "rationalization of transgression of spiritual laws of right action." The interior sanctuary of "The Supremacy of Goodness", emanates as becoming "a living embodiment of compassion in the world".

The personal experience of beloved Robert Adams Teaching offers a correct path of service, well- being, peaceful personal relationships, light hearted joyful radiance, reflecting our True Selves in the world, rather than in words. Robert Adams Teaching offers a gentle oasis out of confusion, in an internal solid realization of God within and without, while practically establishing an outward role in this lifetime as living embodiments of the Truth. How? intervening when possible to promote peace, loving kindness, peaceful resistance to injustice, the qualities of The Supreme. The following guideposts assist one on the core radiance lit pathway of Truth, while "becoming an asset to this world."

"The person who realizes Truth, does not passively observe injustice, cruelty, harm to others. He is the first one to get in there and help. Yet within, he is at peace. Remove yourself from unkind, violent, angry, resentful environments and relationships. I do not mean to run away. You correct your own actions. You apologize. You remove yourself. Do not remain in the company of arrogant, belligerent people. Do not participate in angry, aggressive actions. You are not passive. You are strong in peace."

"Do not intellectualize cruelty. Injustice. Aggression. This results in incoming chaotic repercussions. You will not know why this is happening to you. Remain in Truth. You do not choose right action, loving kindness, peace, depending on the reaction of others. You choose it because you have no attraction to anything else. You have risen. If you protest injustice, remain at peace within. Do so peacefully. Do not cultivate anger. Hate. Do as the Buddhists who protest the abuse of animals. In peace they march. If you must sue someone, sue them with love. Do not cultivate hate. Never believe you can 'get away' with anything in this world. The Lords of Karma are always watching."

Actions of Gentle Intervention

Robert Adams occasionally attends films. He quietly gets up and leaves the room if exploitative, cruelty, violence, 'adult' movies or fear driven agendas are featured. The humble sage leaves a public talk on extremely rare occasions. One is disrespecting a woman verbally, or in any way. Another is disrespecting a child. "Satsang is over." The gentle beloved Sage loves innocent humor and gentle whimsy. He encouraged children on the podium and stage with him, blowing bubbles and laughing.

"Never strike a child. Do not force children. Guide them with loving kindness. Always protect children from the vile things of this world."

"If you do nothing but discuss, debate, memorize spiritual terminologies, you will not change. It is by jumping into God everyday, until you feel the peace, the love."

"Never use spiritual terms to criticize someone. To judge someone. There are a lot of people going around saying "Be quiet! Be in Silence!" "That's your ego!" Of course, if your really realized what these words meant, you would have no desire to say them to others. You would be gently unfolding within. You would be gentle with others. People tell me they would just observe in the war. In the holocaust. Because everything is unfolding as it should. Quite the contrary. Someone who understood Truth, would be the first one to go in there and help! When you truly realize that everything is unfolding as it should, you realize that you are an embodiment of Truth. Compassion. Loving kindness. You have no other choice but to help others. For there are no others. There is just one Heart of God."

"Make up your mind everyday to do three things to find peace. Increase your daily meditations/practices. Do something for someone else asking nothing in return. Bring happiness to others. As you are unfolding, bring sunshine to all you meet. Do not do this for a reward. Do not care what others think. You are operating from an entirely different reality. You have risen. You are not operating from the thinking of this world, me first, what can I get out of it? You have found something better. Then be of good cheer. Smile. Do not become idle, thinking this is 'spiritual'. Make your home, your relationships, bright and shining. Do this from your heart. You will create a new life."

"Abide in the realization of the eternal nature of the virtues. Of Truth. This never changes. The world changes. Politics change. People change. But the Truth, within the world, people, nature, never changes. Therefore, look at the world with a sense of the eternal, yet actively become a vessel of peace, beauty, harmony, in the world."

The Robert Adams Pure Form Original Teaching

Everyday Living. Transcendence of Anger (part one)

Question: When you were answering the psychologist’s questions about anger and the ethics of indulging in your own so called outlets, at the cost of others I found two things deeply meaningful. I would like to ask you about this.

Robert: Yes.

Question: The first was that in light of my path, the Vedas. It seems being in the same truth as the scriptures, “Stay away from an angry man”, the contradiction in modern psychology is that this is an essential part of our being. It’s good. This is so prevalent that it confuses. If you can speak on this. Because you have a very warm, light hearted nature I have never seen you angry or mean but you are on- point uncompromising on ethics such as non-harm. So not abusing or dumping on others, and a mastery of one’s character, if I am correct, is a reflection of the divine Self rather than defining oneself purely as a psychological human with no goal point, rolling from anger to greed to happiness to grief, with no resolution or divine intervention… Is this correct? How would one just adjust their equilibrium to really authentically live this way?

Robert: Yes. First of all, you must decide who ‘you’ really are. If you wish to identify completely with incoming fluctuating anger, rage, fear, selfishness, happiness, and so on, that is entirely your choice. But what right do you have to impose this on others? To take it out on another? You have no right. You can object, reason with them, remove yourself from any abuse. You are a doormat for no one.  Therefore, if one is truly honest with themselves, they find there is an enslavement to these forces, to anger, in that it is never fulfilled, it is never over, it is never finished. And it has an effect on your consciousness. The problem with psychology in this regard is that we are taught that we ‘are’ these fluctuating tempers, resentments, hidden motives, meanness, we must explore them, excite them, express them, to be well adjusted and so on. And look at the world! (laughter) Everyone is angry, and they think this frees them. Yet soon, it is time to be angry again.

v

h

We then have the reality of energy, consciousness, karma. How this affects our life. All true religions teach that tempers, anger, and so on, is a detriment to spiritual unfoldment. Why? Because this aligns you with chaotic forces of confusion. Despair. Expressing it until you choose to express it again. And the cycle never ends. It is detrimental to interior unfoldment. This incurs more suffering. So. The idea is to identify with the root of it all. rather than the so-called symptoms. The human predicament. Which is karmic in nature- childhood suffering, a myriad of complex internal belief systems that say that what we ‘feel’ is who we are. Then there is spiritual maturity. We inquire of ourselves. What right do we have to verbally or otherwise abuse others with our anger? We observe that anger infuses more anger. It is a never-ending cycle. We must be very honest with ourselves. If we culture secret angers, resentments, envy, it is the same.

We are not denying anger. We are not repressing it. We are not disassociating ourselves. We are not being artificial. We have simply found something better.

j

Something immensely glorious. Something far more powerful, more therapeutic, if you will, than the never-ending mirage of ‘expressing’ whatever arises, whether it is beneficial to do so or not. As we unfold, we begin to lose interest in magnifying these feelings. Rationalizing bad behavior. For we have found there is a sublime, all-pervading reality that reveals anger, fear, self-righteousness, arrogance, aggressiveness, meanness- all these things we are taught to believe are a part of us- to simply be a vehicle of further suffering. But you must discover this for yourself. If you wish to. It is your choice. More... Transcendence of Anger Pt1 and Pt2

Robert Adams Contemplation Cards: Waterproof Portable Ponderings for the Day

Thank You For Sharings:

From Jeanette Kafree NY NY

"I just wanted to drop a note to share with you how much the Robert Adams cards mean to me that I received with my Happiness book. So needed! I pop them in my car display and office desk. It has made such a difference when my mind just went to worries, weird TV shows or just going downhill, I glance at the cards and the colors, art make the words come to life for me. I cant tell you how many times I started focusing on the cards throughout the day. It was the first time I stopped looking at the time and before I knew it the day had passed in a seamless flow of easiness inside. Really unusual for me. They arrived as a generous gift and I was so surprised! It begins to feel like when I did long meditations. I just got the 'pondering' thing. It's not just reading, it transforms the mind. So for this and all you do, thank you infinitely!

All my love, Jeanette."

Ponder This

The True Way of Non-Attachment "It is an interior realization.'

"Do not use spiritual terminologies to behave badly. To have a cold heart or become callous. This is not the way of the Self. If you are acting from the Self, you are filled with compassion, loving kindness towards all sentient beings. This is your natural state. You cannot do anything else but alleviate the suffering of others.

Non-attachment is not ignoring injustice, abuse, harming animals. Westerners do not understand the meaning of these words. It is an interior realization. It is the retaining of peace within, while taking Right Action. If you were really practicing non-attachment, you would not be attracted to ignoring the suffering of others. You would have no choice but to intervene, in a calm manner. If you were being tortured, starved, abused, would you tell someone not to help you and to be 'non-attached'? Of course this is nonsense. This is a cold heart. You must have compassion." Robert Adams

Diving into the Waters of “The Splendor and the Glory.”

b

Robert Adams favorite beaches on his family holiday in Merida /Yucatan

“You have to really dive into the practice of unfoldment. You must do the practices, not simply read them” Robert Adams

Dive into the Depth of “The Splendor and Glory” of the Teaching and apply the Practices, do not simply read the quote. The seeker goes from one reading to another without changing; the sincere spiritual aspirant or devotee has found his spiritual home and dives deeply into the depth of the practices. He does this each morning and evening until something happens. Something wonderful. As you begin to internalize the Truth, the realization of the words become your reality. You perceive the Light, the Love, behind all changing outer circumstances.

The secret is to identify with the qualities of the real You, in each action, word and thought. This will gain momentum, and it will become effortless to become a warm hearted, generous human being.

You identify with this therefore, when you realize that You, the real ‘You,’ are the Light of Reality behind all events, you become full of compassion, loving kindness, always shining as the sun behind the changing clouds. Something beautiful happens. Everything outward begins to change. Your circumstances become better. Why? Because you are guided by The Power That Knows the Way, instead of confusion. You are no longer angry. Yet you are not repressed, apathetic, false, you have risen to a higher vision. A higher reality that takes care of everything, through you taking right action. So the difference is that you either read, memorize and intellectually quote spiritual truths for an entire lifetime, go to spiritual events and know ‘spiritual’ people, or you dive completely and totally into the practices, into the meditations, selfless service to others, compassionate inquiry, prayer, chanting, and you become very very humble. But you must dive in all the way. Dive deeply into God with all your heart. All your love. Surrender everything that is not of the true Self to God, sincerely. Then you will find that you exist in a world of unimaginable beauty. Bliss. Peace. Suffering subsides. You become an asset to this world by your loving kindness. Your benevolence.”    Robert Adams

Dive Into the Waters of

Omniscience

Welcome. As we share this summer’s beautiful images of one of beloved Robert Adams favorite family holiday summer vacations in the world of nature, the beauty of this manifestation of The Supreme, we are simultaneously invited to dive deeply into the cool, refreshing waters of eternal Truth that does not change, the substratum of our lives unseen, that allow us to uplift our earthly experience with gentle simplicity amid our dedication to “do something". "Do these methods every day and watch what happens. The happiness that is the substratum of your existence will come bubbling up. But you must take some action in this earthly life. You do not have to be a victim of circumstances".

In These Warm, Welcoming Summer Months, Dive into The Current That Knows the Way

"The current of divine reality will lift you up once you make the daily effort; the saints and sages, spiritual giants are aware of your efforts. You may walk along the sand,or dip a toe in, and that is all and well. Yet, if you truly wish to enter the mystical realms of God, trust in the Supremacy of Goodness. This has been the glorious truth since time immemorial in all great religions; you must make the effort to experience the lives of the saints and sages. Do not be satisfied with words. Dry head knowledge. A quote or verse. Do it today. I promise you, your life will improve immeasurably. You will find yourself among kind, loving people conducive to interior unfoldment."

“Many will memorize quotes, discuss, debate, find new quotes, but who will do the Practices, the Teaching? These are the ones who will find that something wonderful happens. You will have the consciousness of heaven on earth.  Won’t you begin today?”

  b/

Students, aspirants, friends, let us begin today. Today we have been ‘pre-ordained’ to receive the gracious offering; to rise above the day to day cultural climate of ‘man’s inhumanity to man’, ethical and moral ambiguity and resulting chaos, to be taken by the hand by a dear friend of genuine goodwill, one who abides in “the peace that passeth understanding’, that does not change” in contemporary times, uncompromising authenticity and purity of heart, and direct experience ‘in your personal life’.

As we travel through Merida Mexico with the Sage in these images of his favorite region to spend summers with his family, let us breathe in the all-pervading love, Truth, and wisdom to rise to a higher vision. In this summer’s warm days, light-hearted inclinations, we sit by the water and open to the infinite eternal, we ponder the Lessons, we “Pray and sing with all our heart to God.”
We “become benevolent.”
We “become of Great Heart.”
We “Discover The Unimaginable Beauty”
We create lives that are “Bright and Shining Like the Sun!”
And we rejoice.
Let us make up our minds today dive deeply into the pure waters of “True spiritual practices every day until we reflect the quality of our eternal Self, love, compassion and humility.”
Happy Summer to all.

In ocean outings, each time he swam out into the ocean Robert Adams swam for miles until he was merely a dot in the distance. Love of the expansiveness, clarity and melding of sunshine and water sparkling in the latter day is a force of divine presence that he honors. "What is divine omniscience? As you begin to unfold, you begin to see the Light, the grandeur, the divinity, tenderness, behind the outward events and physical world. There is a divine love that is the Supreme, God. This is the beginning."

Robert Adams and Family- Summer Holidays in Merida Amid the Pyramids : Memories

“This Life May Be A Dream, But It Can Be a Joyful One.”

The gift freedom found in the realization that we may actually choose an unchanging, real and true, loving sanctuary, a refuge in “The Light of a Thousand Suns” within, the joy of the Supreme, throughout all circumstances, whether we have the option to change outer circumstances or not, defines the shared personal experience of Robert Adams. A rare contemporary example of radiant unchanging peace throughout great gain and loss, vibrant health unimaginable illness. A devotion to modern American family life in the traditional sense amid the worlds cultural chaos, throughout life, the crystalline clarity of aquamarine waters, bright cheery warm sunshine that reflected his personal warmth in gentle joviality to all, define the sages chosen nature surroundings.

A beloved, buoyant, soft- spoken sage known for emanating an overwhelming ethereal peace that dropped artificial defenses and permeated the room with the presence of an inexplicable deep love, his original inner circle of students including an overseas group of British-Indian heritage’. Choosing to live near the ocean in a warm, brightly uplifting sunny area, he took his family to the beach often on weekends and during summers, on family holiday to Merida Mexico. Staying at a family resort, he often mentions his love of this time, the close family time together, and always visited the Mayan pyramids. As we enjoy a late summer visit to the favorite places of our beloved gentle Sage, let us together 'dive into the waters' of a deeper, committed daily refreshment in the practices of Truth.

Student: Thank you Robert. Last week you were speaking on the importance of helping the pained, the voiceless. This is not a common topic of most teachers, in California anyway, (much laughter) speak on. I wondered if you could help me in discovering if this applies to animals. I was in a spiritual group where I was told that my saving the whales and so called ‘worrying’ about animals was basically unimportant. Leave to the universe. When I did your Sage in the Heart meditation that you showed us, and listened, I felt in Consciousness that this was not true. Helping them was my path. To the point, what do you think of animal activism in the LA area?

Robert Adams: We must alleviate the suffering of all living beings. All of life is one consciousness, love. Service to the animal kingdom is an act of holiness. This alleviates selfishness.

Student: What is Mass Consciousness?
Robert Adams: Mass Consciousness is the underlying evolutionary consciousness of the masses of the world- at one particular time. Therefore, if you are living in a time when the majority of people think it is normal to torture and kill animals, to eat them, even though this is completely unnecessary, you will somehow feel it is OK, because the vibration-if you will- of everyone else is so strong that you just accept it. If you were born at a time when the people were highly evolved, where there was spiritual wisdom, this would not be a consideration for anyone. What I am saying is that the thought of doing such a thing would never occur to anyone, for as one evolves, causing suffering to any living being is unthinkable. So you have mass consciousness in business, in relationships, in religion, and so on. Now, since this earth plane is approximately on the level of the third grade in consciousness, when you begin to evolve into a more compassionate life in accordance with Right Action, you will find that you differ immensely from the majority of people, or the mass consciousness. As you unfold, you become stronger.

The Beauty of Devotion to Meditation, Prayer, Compassionate Inquiry, Holy Music, Everyday

"The whole universe is in a state of flux. Nothing is solid. Nothing is permanent, nothing exists, the way it appears. Your body is a miniature universe. Your body is a replica of the entire universe. Your body is a microcosm of the macrocosm. This being so, then there's nothing permanent inside of 'you' . 'You' are not a permanent being. (* "Never confuse the You with a big Y with the you with a little y. YOU are eternal, omnipresent, pure compassion. The little you is the impermanent body.")

As you keep on practicing day after day, as you keep on doing your homework, the day will come when something happens. Many people give up too easy. Never look for results. This is why, even before you get to self-inquiry, another thing you have to develop is humility. Total humility. You forget about what people say, what people do. You observe the world, but do you not react to it, and you begin to practice every day. You begin to understand that the I-thought doesn't exist. It never did. This is why you do not concentrate on the I-thought. You concentrate on the source, which is the Self, God, consciousness. If this becomes difficult for you, you practice surrender. That's where the humility comes in. You surrender your body, your mind, your ego, your affairs to God, or to the Self, or to your heart. You no longer need or want anything. You give it all up to God.

 n

Everything I am sharing with you can be discovered and practiced. You can practice this. You will see that I'm saying the truth. It may not take you one day, or two days or a week. It may take you some time to do this. But if you keep watching in the morning when you get up, you will discover that the I comes from the heart, the spiritual heart in the right side of the chest, goes through the spine, up into the brain, and then you become a slave of the I. The I takes you through the day and through life. But now that you discover where it comes from, you begin to see that when I go to sleep, it reverses itself. It goes the other way. For when you go to sleep, just before you fall asleep, those few seconds before you fall asleep, you're in the same consciousness you where when you woke up in the morning, before you awakened, and became fully aware of the I. You are in the same place, the same position. But this time it's reversing, going the other way. The I is going from the brain, down the spine, back into the heart.

This is called tracing the I. Following the I-thought. Now you've got something to work with. Now you've got something to do, keep you busy, keep you out of mischief. You begin to follow that I. When you are able to follow that I into the heart, in other words, when you are consciously in your waking state able to follow the I back into the heart, you will become free and liberated. This is your homework. This is what you have to do. All of you have to start doing this, have to practice this. Discovering the I, where it came from, tracing it back into the heart center. When it goes back into the heart center, and you're conscious, you're liberated, for there's no more I. It is the I that has been keeping you in bondage, the I. Follow this I. Do it, and become free. Peace.

I'm going to start playing some different kinds of music. If you like this music, let me know and I will play more of it.

(Robert Adams includes his love of music in the majority of his Dialogues. To enjoy his favorite songs, chants and prayers, see ICHANT and the CD area of this Home site.)

Have a Passion for God

"If you keep turning within enough, and you cry for realization, you cry for God, you have passion for God, like you have for a football game! (laughter) something will give. And something will happen. But you have to have that passion. It has to come first in your life. And you start in the morning as soon as you open your eyes. Know the Truth. And the Truth will make you free.

You are not separate from the great saints and sages. If your heart, you want to experience God. Fully and completely. The Supreme love. So, when you are despondent, out of sorts, throw your whole heart into God-with everything you have.

Give God your heart and soul. All of your suffering. Jump into God, the first thing upon awakening in the morning until you feel the love, the peace. Meditate. Sing. Chant. Pray. If you cannot do anything else, surrender your whole heart to God. God will appear in the form that you love Him the most. God is here right now. The saints and sages, angels and great beings are here, aware of you, personally. Now. When you love God with all your heart, all separation disappears. You will feel God deeply within. And your entire life will reflect this. You will see everything with a new view. You will begin to perceive the bright and shining reality that is behind all of life."

Quite the contrary, you will find yourself becoming more attracted to serving others, to being warm hearted, a comfort to others, taking care of others beside yourself. Do not let your mind make you selfish. Expand your heart. God fills the sky with birds and the forests with animals and feeds them- The Supreme is the joy in the laughter of children. Alleviate the suffering of others. In a normal, natural fashion. That is God."

Enjoy a beautiful spring and summer pondering the transformative, uplifting talks in personal guidance. in the beauty of nature.

"It is never too late to completely change your life for the better. The easiest way to begin is to ponder, digest, again and again,

one passage from the discourses. You will begin to feel a deep peace where you felt fear. Anger. Sadness. It is all within you. Do this first thing in the morning upon awakening, and just before bed. Suffering will begin to subside. Happiness will begin to bubble up. The world will lose it hold on you.

m

This is a beautiful practice. Yet it is very powerful. Do not take this lightly. Go out in nature if you can. A peaceful place. Relax. This is a gracious, gentle path. If you do this each morning and evening, the same discourse everyday for a week, this

peace, this bliss, this compassion, all pervading love will become a reality for you. Go beyond words. Experience this yourself."

Daily Guidance Questions and Answers

Church

Q: When I attended his talks I was surprised to find he only spoke once a week, living a family life, always walking hand in hand with his wife. Did Robert Adams have a traditional wedding?

A: Yes, Robert Adams and his beloved wife had a traditional church formal wedding. He had a female operatic performance of Ave Maria. Later, upon having children, he had them formally Christened in the church. "One can participate in all the ceremonies, devotions of ones faith to accelerate unfoldment, but you must have a pure heart." Robert Adams

m

What Is the true path of 'non-reaction'? Clarification on This Topic In Correct Context. "Never just observe when someone is suffering. Never brush anyone off. Correct Non Reaction is an Interior Realization."

Q: Blessings to you. My understanding of his teaching of non reaction is an inner response of peace, then acting appropriately outwardly. Others say it is complete passivity. Can you clarify?

A: The Teaching of Robert Adams on the peaceful attunement of non reaction is primarily emphasized regarding ones incoming life circumstances, karmas, etc. Indeed, one lifts into omniscient divine peace, understanding, "The Power That Knows the Way", rising to a supreme reality as personal experience. One is then guided to alleviate the suffering of others; to take correct action.

"I do not mean to simply sit there and observe others suffering. To not respond to injustice, cruelty, your responsibility to others. It is an interior understanding. You rise above the event in a direct experience of God, The Supreme. We must be very honest with ourselves. We are not ignoring everything, becoming a non responsive, cold orb. Quite the contrary. One who truly realizes the gentle path of non reaction, is the most loving, caring, warm person of all. He is the first person to get in there and help others. For example, people always ask me about the war. They think that if one is realized, one would simply watch all the people being tortured, killed, running for help. This is false. Instead, one becomes a living embodiment of loving kindness, assistance. When you feel a natural pull to alleviate the suffering of all living beings, then you know that you are unfolding. For there is no separation from your heart and the heart of others."

"This is not for the public at large, but for those deeply called from their hearts to become a living embodiment of love, compassion, humility. For that is your True Self."

Q: Can you share in respect to the author, narratives why Robert Adams selectively chooses to distribute his talks only to those present, 'showed up', and a few friends? I know that his pamphlets are in spiritual temples in India with his conformation, where he is quite famous.

A: Please see the video accompanying the imagery of the globe, on our non profit legal page in which Robert Adams explains tenderly' for the foundational sacred reverence Robert Adams reserved his Teaching of his personal experience 'for those few called by a pure heart to take this all the way.", sharing Dialogue transcripts with only those present in public, non Inner Circle talks, and a few friends who felt a deep resonance to this gentle path of joyful transformation. Please see the required non profit legal page and his Dialogue sharings for the traditional Student Sage reverence shared in his joyful gatherings of music, refreshments and dialogue for pubic guests.

God, as the world, is Real.

"Never say nothing is real. God, as the world, is real."

The Joyful Dream

"This life may be a dream, but it can be a joyful one. Never forget the most important thing, love, compassion and humility. For this is the nature of your true Self."

What is non- attachment?

"If you really wish to practice non attachment, give up your anger, your belligerence, your arrogance. Your meanness, gossip, jealousy. That is non attachment. The West thinks this means to give your things away and announce it.

To have no responsibilities. To become selfish, self absorbed, thinking only about yourself. True non attachment is an interior realization. This is a very deep process. You care even more about others. A deep peace arises. You know who You really are."

"If you wish to know someones true spiritual stature, observe them when asked to go out of their way to help someone else with nothing in return. Alleviating the suffering of others in an everyday practical way is a holy act. This is true spirituality."

Questions and Answers with Robert Adams

Q: You said that we should all read the world scriptures and become familiar with them. I have read the Bhagavad Gita. Do you have any suggestions for the Bible? I am unfamiliar with this.

Robert Adams: Proverbs. This is the foundation for life, in order to progress. Read all of the words of Jesus. This is a good beginning. Read everything that Jesus said.

Q: I am feeling a progression to apply "I am not the doer", (laughs) even if that sounds like a contradiction. It really calms down my nerves. How do I know if I am practicing this correctly?

Robert Adams: Yes. Most people do not understand this. If you, your human personality, fears, foils and foibles are not the doer, who is? God. You simply allow God to act through you. The Supreme. Of course, this takes surrender. Humility. Deep awareness of Truth. If God is the doer, then all that comes out of you is love, compassion and humility, for that is the nature of The Supreme. The Self. Not the human self, the divine, all pervading, omniscient Self. Love, compassion and humility is the nature of the Self. That is the emanation of the true Self. This is how you know you are doing this correctly. This is a very powerful practice. Throughout the day, you can compliment this with holy music, beautiful traditions, that which awakens The Supreme. This helps you remain in this practice.

Q: You know, I went to several similar sounding groups, and the emphasis is on the destruction of all that is familiar, the abandonment of your comfort zones, the chaos that results is good. This is not what you teach and I wonder if you could share your thoughts on this.

Robert Adams: Unfoldment is not acquired by force. By violence, mind games of abandoning things, people, feeling fear, chaos, all sorts of crazy ideas. This has nothing to do with God. Spiritual unfoldment occurs as a flower unfolds. God is merciful. With grace, harmony, complete understanding. It is an interior realization. Everything changes but it changes beautifully. Everything becomes more harmonious, peace increases. Relationships begin to reflect this awakening of the splendor and the glory. Never force anyone to do anything. You do not frighten people into awakening, become belligerent, arrogant, aggressive. You follow a true path of illumination and God will take over. You do not need to force yourself to feel these things, leave people, leave your career, become strange. For in true illumination, you will begin to see the Supreme in your relationships, you will become a better doctor, dentist, parent. You will become kinder, wiser. These things will happen. they happen naturally and of their own accord. Happiness will begin to bubble up. For happiness is the substratum of your existence. Do your practices with devotion and this will happen. Peace.

LOVING KINDNESS MEDITATION

A Moment of Refuge

"Take Refuge in the Peace that Passeth Understanding."

"Dive deeply into the peace that does not change. Do this every morning upon awakening and just before sleep. Here, you will find refuge in That; Peace Eternal. Here you will find the Unimaginable Beauty. It will begin to last longer and longer, until one day, it never leaves you. Peace. Peace. Peace. "

Why Benevolence Is Most

Important

“To become a benevolent person is most important. Benevolence is a necessary virtue for unfoldment. Why? Because benevolence is your true nature. You, the real You, are naturally benevolent. Naturally selfless, giving to others. Of peaceful intercession. A conduit of harmony, love, peace to all. A living embodiment of loving kindness. You go beyond yourself. Giving. Not just to yourself. This naturally brings peace and happiness. Joy. Because this is the nature of The Supreme. Since this is an aspect of your true nature, to express this outwardly is simply to express the Self. Your true Self. (God within, eternal all-pervading)

Therefore, the quality of benevolence must be acquired while you are in your human body. Never imagine that you can stay the way you are, without acquiring the virtues, and spiritually progress. The virtues are required for spiritual progression. They determine your actions. The easiest way to acquire this virtue, is by making up your mind to practice it. Simply do it.

It is far more important to become benevolent than to discuss theology, memorize spiritual terminologies, pronounce that you are Consciousness, a so- called ‘observer’, ‘non –attached’. For if you really understood what these words meant, you would have absolutely no desire to pronounce them to anyone. This would never occur to you. It is all an interior realization. Non- attachment simply means that within, you are not destroyed at loss, yet you are the most loving mother, father, sister, brother, friend, for you see God in everyone. And all Is love. You do not withdraw from the world, from relationships, responsibilities. You perfect them. This is your dharma. And acquiring the virtue of benevolence is a most important aspect of spiritual unfoldment. It does not matter if you ‘feel’ like doing this or not - for who is feeling this? Your true Self delights in giving. Alleviating the suffering of others. Being compassionate.

v

Robert Adams Waterproof Home Contemplation Pondering Cards for Cell Phone, Wallet, Car or Screen Savers in Rich Daily Attunement

Ignore the minds objections, rationalizations. Human selfishness. Self-absorption. Go beyond this. Do this consciously. Rise above your human tendencies and become a conduit of God. Your life will change profoundly. This is why I say, ‘I am calling you to a higher vision.’  You will be amazed at the results. If you begin to practice benevolence in your daily life, you will naturally be lifted above this world, for this is not a world of benevolence. Yet there is a higher world, so to speak, a more evolved consciousness, of which you will begin to feel a part of. This will guide you. Protect you.

People say to me, “But how can I begin to become benevolent, if I can barely handle my own problems?” Of course, the opposite is true. When you begin to become benevolent, your own so called problems begin to become less significant-they bother you less. You see the big picture so to speak. When you bring food to a group that is hungry every day, when you visit and talk to the housebound, the isolated, the lonely, make them laugh, bring sunshine into their lives, you become aware of your true Self. As you expand, the things that upset you lose their hold on you.

You can be benevolent with a friend by simply going out of your way for them, with no so-called reward. You can join organizations that feed the hungry, clothe the poor. Help the homeless children. Many so- called spiritual people become so self-absorbed in doing only the things that they enjoy every day, talking about spirituality, doing things to make them feel good, that they miss the point entirely. They stay in the same stage of unfoldment. There is no significant change. Benevolence is a joyful virtue. It is a bright and shining truth. For this is where the happiness that does not fade exists. This is the foundation of mysticism, the saints and sages, awakening, all of the things that you are searching for.

You know this from the love you feel for your family, your children, your animals. This is a glimmer of the love that is our origin. Our eternal Self. We must have for each other. If you have a gift that brings joy, art, music, being of comfort and good cheer, then go somewhere where you can give this to others. Become benevolent of heart with your family, your friends, your co- workers. Do not think about what you will get out of it. It does not matter what response you get. You are doing this for God. Hand it all to God, and become his expression of loving kindness. You will find that things in your mental life, in your spiritual life, will begin to improve immeasurably.

Question: How should we treat children?

Robert: How should you treat children? Treat children as if they were Gods. Love them with all your heart and with all your soul. If you really love children the love that you feel for them will encompass them also. And they will become loving children. I don't mean love them with a human idea of love. I mean really love them. With all your heart and all your soul. See them as a sacred being. See them as a God. And realize divine right action is pouring itself through them. See only the goodness in them. Become an example for them. Do not tell them to do anything that you wouldn't do yourself. Children become what they see not what they hear. Therefore if there is peace in your home, if there is love in your home, there is joy in your home, I mean real peace, real love, real joy they have to pick it up.

The Transcendence of Fear

by Robert Adams

“Never allow fear to reside. Do not culture fear. I am not saying to do foolish things or not take heed. I am saying that a Power That Knows the Way, The Supreme, God, will take care of you, guide you, protect you, if you will allow Him to do so. How do you do this? You refuse to think of yourself as a mere human, full of weakness, worries and hurt. This is an illusion. You, the real You, are none of these things. Now it is easy to say these words, but what do you really do when fear appears to be real? The first step must have been done previously. You have regularly, daily, identified with a direct experience of God, through your practices, meditations, prayers, and so on, until you have a realization of Absolute Truth through peace, harmony, love, that cannot be described. Because you have done this, you have mitigated, for want of a better word, your 'samskaras', tendencies, inclinations, to fear. It is dissolving into a greater Truth. Eternal Reality. Everything else begins to lose its power over you.

Then you are put in a position where fear seems to appear. You do not identify with this fear. You do not say “I am afraid.”  The fear is not yours. Who are you without the fear? Do you not see the truth that it is entirely up to you to fear? Now, many people who are not ready for this truth become arrogant and tell other people not to be afraid. Never tell someone else what to do. Never tell a child they cannot be afraid, comfort them. We are talking about you. A student on this path. We are humble. Kind. Gentle. Therefore, you refuse to identify with fear. You refuse consciously to accept fear. Simply and naturally. If you are of a devotional nature, you instantly surrender the fear up to God." Here God, I surrender this fear up to you entirely. Take it from me. I identify only with you. With your qualities, virtues.” And you really do it.

v

You do this until you no longer feel the fear. You do this every time the fear appears to arise.  (pause) So. What are you doing? You are refusing to identify, on any level, with fear. You do not say ‘my’ fear, ‘I’ am fearful, because the real 'You' is eternal, all-pervading, omniscient love, Absolute Perfection. Beautiful. Pure. Holy. Everything else has been covering up the real You, your holiness, because you choose to identify with it, to act upon it, to believe that this is who you are. This is impossible. The body feels a protective response to harm, for you to remain safe. The right thing to do arises naturally. You however, know who You really are. No matter what happens to you never forget who You really are. Identify immediately with who You are.

Never become cold, removed, uncaring to others, saying “I am observing so I have no fear." Those who understand this path, know that you are only practicing true observation when you are observing the situation from a deep, unfathomable love, for that is your real nature. This love will lead you to right action-not ignoring the situation in apathy. Be very careful. Do not fool yourself. Identify with who You really are, not who you are not. It is easier for you to immediately identify with the qualities of the true Self than to 'try' not to be afraid. Of course, your progression will depend upon your samskaras, your character qualities. If you are unusually inclined to fear, then you simply increase these practices. You will get out of it exactly what you put into it. I can assure you my friend, that if you refuse to identify with fear, if you realize it has absolutely no power on its own, it will lose its hold on you. But what will you identify with?

Identify with All- Pervading Reality. Eternal love omniscient. Identify strongly with the sage in the heart, on the right side of your chest. See Jesus, or the sage of your heart, right there. Expand it, expand it, until he is larger and larger. Rest in the sage. Take refuge in the sage. Hand everything over to the sage. Do this with all your heart. See yourself far above the appearance of fear, as if you are the sun looking down at the clouds dissipating. You thought you were the clouds, but in Absolute Reality, you, were the sun all along. Feel this strongly. Let’s do this right now. (Silence. Meditation.)

v

Do you feel this? Do you feel this with all of your heart? We are very practical here. I can assure you that if you do this regularly the appearance of fear, the belief in fear, will loosen its hold on you. Jump into God immediately. The secret to this is that you are identifying with feeling, That which is beyond all temporal human appearances, and That is God. As it is said, if God is for you, who can be against you? If you are truly on a path of spiritual progression, you are engaging only in actions of humility, loving kindness, peace. 'Right Action'. You would have absolutely no attraction to anything else. Therefore, fear has no place in your life, no power. Know this and be free.

Peace. Peace. Peace.

Student Q&A

Question: I really enjoyed the two fabulous online live courses on The Three Virtues and The I Thread to the Heart, a topic I have just discovered that speaks to me. Info on more?

Answer: Yes. Please request listing for RSVP on the webinar courses in the message box on the Institute Intro pg. The world chanting instrument and vocal classes will soon begin.

Question: The daily schedule of the sage is interesting in his mix of the ‘norm’ and speaking to an international audience. Can you talk more about his daily lifestyle and diet schedule? Was he vegetarian? I read the original sharing and wanted to read more, as a couple of us visited on rare occasions and were struck by his light, and husband primary role, when he wore a Walt Disney cap on his walks through the park.- Jim Austin

Answer: Robert Adams gently, in a relaxed but unswerving manner, resides in adherence to the ancient Vedic scriptural precepts in truth rather than just form and lecture. Naturally inclined to the beauty of form and self structure, similar to in religious environments, he always arises before the sun. He was raised in a deeply religious structured environment of diet and devotions with a strong and loving mother. He would walk for miles or climb a large hill in the early dawn, returning to walk with his beloved Dimitri, a dog given to him as a gift from his daughter and named by another child, often with various family members. The evenings would find him in his large, pale blue velvet 'birthday' chair emanating an overwhelming sense of peace and the room over looking a beautiful oriental water garden was filled with a profound peaceful stillness associated with deep God contact. Occasionally he would read the ancient scriptures with one of his children, several adopted relative’s or his wife. The weekdays centered around scheduled counseling appointments, from international visitors to local celebrities and those in need of guidance, with break for lunch-either at a local restaurant or with his family in a formal dining setting.

The beautiful narratives of his private residence are often shared. The beloved sage resided in Vedic or Indian style of extended family. He resides with or next door to his children for the majority of his lifetime in a lively, laughing, artistic/musical household. He joined his wife and family members for formal family breakfasts at their long glass dining table. She would prepare a fresh fruit tropical salad and his favorite seven grain cereal, often spiced as in Indian ashrams with several spices. Fresh pineapple or lemon and orange juice was often included. His beloved wife dedicated her life to him in a devout, loving and boundless manner of dedication, while they shared modern equal roles, amid a rich sparkle of laughter and kindred spirits. He respected her gifts and nurturing spiritual perceptions in counseling mothers for challenging life events, adopting/raised several relatives in need. The diet is most akin to a fresh natural basis with macrobiotic grains-often Indian dishes, never varying from a vegetarian foundation, substituting non dairy whenever possible, such as in his celebrative holiday fare, bringing home non dairy egg nog, etc. Beloved Mrs. Adams had her own radio show on nutrition and vegetarianism as a young woman, and taught gourmet vegetarian cuisine prior to her design career. Robert Adams and Mrs. Adams hosted years of legendary, beautiful feasts and celebrations in the ancient adage of "The guest is God."

"What Right Do You Have To Hurt An Animal?" Robert Adams

"No Realized Person Would Ever Hurt Another Being." Robert Adams

"This is a path of Ahimsa." Robert Adams

"Do not use spiritual words to excuse bad behavior. Do not say you are 'observing' and 'unattached' when others are suffering. This is delusion of the mind." Robert Adams

"Your body does not require meat to be healthy. As I have said, when you eat meat you absorb the suffering, the terror, the pain of the tortured animal." Robert Adams

"This is a path of non-harm. Your job is to protect the Animal Kingdom." Robert Adams

"The compassionate you become, the more clearly you feel Gods direct guidance." Robert Adams

"As you begin to unfold, you begin to see God in all living beings. And since all of life originates from the same love, you feel love for all. It would never occur to you to harm anyone or anything. When you become aware of the suffering imposed upon helpless animals, you can do nothing but help them. You begin to become a conduit of compassion." Robert Adams

Question: Is it true that a vegetarian diet is more conducive to making progress on the spiritual path?

Robert: "This is a contradiction. Automatically if you're practicing sadhana in the right way you will turn to vegetarianism. You will begin to see that the eating of dead flesh is unnecessary. It will come by itself. You will not be interested in killing cows or chickens or pigs or having them killed for you by the butchers. This makes you are finer human being. It makes you pure to an extent.

But a totally realized being avoids meat. Their meals are very simple. They eat to survive. And the food supply that they need is very little. Unless they're doing something to help someone or to show someone something. So the answer is again a truly self-realized being avoids meat, they don't even think about it. They do not gravitate to those things. But spiritual aspirants, even those who are high on the path may eat meat. So I suggest you try to stay away from meat if you can."

On occasional days, due to his beloved wife’s successful established design career requiring her attention, he would prepare what the family called ‘Dad’s cereal’, making enough to serve everyone else in the home. He used only glass cooking pots. Robert Adams possessed a notable ‘sattvic’ or highly evolved personal ambiance of relaxed and cheerful natural purity, cleanliness, self-responsibility and careful order of all of his actions in a gentle, soft manner. Always cooking his seven-grain organic cereal at a low heat, he also prepared his personalized green drink of several green powders in fresh juice.

Again, he offered preparation for any family member or guest present. Eating slowly at the long buffet table, he would on rare occasion read the newspaper and comically ask who tore out the holes in the paper, because his children often removed significant articles or reviews. After listening to music that was always playing at a soft or louder volume in the house, he would prepare to take visitors from around the world for pre-arranged counseling appointments. His wife arranged appointments globally by phone, and guests would be treated to a one hour personal counsel session, followed by her warm and hospitable formal British afternoon teas with refreshments, or a beautiful formal Indian supper of several courses, live musicians and discourse.

On weekends Robert Adams took his family out to eat Thai, Indian or Mexican food in local restaurants primarily visited by the surrounding corporate buildings and the Encino community. He would comically place his name with the maitre d as "Famished. Mr. Famished!" and was fondly known as such locally. An appreciator of festivities, his love for having many children and animals around him, many people to care for and love, holds him beloved to the hearts of thousands today throughout the world. He never asked children to be quiet, never chided others or spoke harshly, deeply adored and revered by his children and wife, yet maintained the highest standards of impeccable responsibility in respecting others- not allowing students to disrespect one another, particularly women and children, in his environment. He enjoyed special treats, cakes or Indian sweets at parties or on occasion. (See online course: "Diet and Daily Living Now" offered twice Orly.)

"Peace. Peace. Peace."

A soft civility and his uncompromising honoring, rather than discussing, of the 'Vedic' or a higher evolved lifestyle simply and naturally emanated from him. This would stun theologians and intellectual debaters into a quiet respect for his humble lack of personal agenda or ‘convincing’ anyone of anything. He would merely present a possibility to engage, an invitation to explore the subject matter. “I am not a guru. You have asked me to share my experience. Try it and see if it works for you.”
Weekend outings would be followed by attending a live concert, alternated with days at the beach in Malibu, or at his relative’s home amid, the parks and meditation grounds in Rancho Palos Verdes and Pacific Palisades.

Devoted entirely to his family and the upbringing of his children in private religious schooling, now all in the professional therapeutic or spiritual teaching paths, Robert Adams never went anywhere without his family other than latter day public discourses that were not a part of his original Inner Circle lifelong friends of classes and students that met regularly with him. In addition, he regularly engaged in dedicated involvement in animal protection groups, the local classical music arena, members of the Hollywood Bowl and the museum. He is known for quietly supporting children’s orphanages and for his assistance in organizations for the majority of his lifetime, all continued in his ongoing Benevolence Project.

Question: Did Robert Adams receive requests to ‘take over’ or run famous, long standing spiritual (names famed organization community) groups?

Answer: Robert Adams received several such requests. He refused them all.

"Ponder This"

On the Application of the Writings of Saint Teresa of Avila

to the Personal Practice of the Teaching of Robert Adams

The privilege of this teaching has shone bright  light on my understanding of the path of my upbringing. Thank you for this opportunity to share my journey with you. The practices and peaceful presence of Robert Adams has been a real grace to me. It has opened kernels of previously misunderstood wisdom. To some, this appears oddly in contrast with my own spiritual pathway. After attending several of his talks, I found this persons deep peace complimentary to what I had found solace in for many years, the life of the saints.

I was a regular retreatant at religious retreats throughout the country. Here I would find  the ‘me’  of childhood  when I  had felt the presence of God.  I have found myself consistently returning to the writings of Saint Teresa of Avila as a stepping stone to a more concentrated relationship. As I contemplated Robert Adams talks and shared a few words with him, I felt the same peace of the saints that had arrived at the retreats. How could this be?

It was different from other spiritual speakers, because he already was what he was talking about. Many people have described this, that I am aware of. Some that never met him or personally heard him - trying to represent him with unrecognizable imagined neutrality. Like a 'nothingness’ that bore no relation to him. Perhaps they misunderstood his contemplative message, separating him from his own Teaching. After the first talk, I felt called to contemplate my books on the saints. ‘The saints’ that had provided me with so much solace. This courteous teacher was almost self- effacing in his humble approach.  But his light that warmed the room made us feel privileged. Robert Adams had two things that he always returned to that were familiar with me, contemplation and pondering.

He said it every week I was there. Don’t just listen, don’t just read, ponder it, ponder it, ponder it. Soak it up. Become it. Set aside time everyday for the ponderings as I have shown you. Pray for the depth of it to come upon you. Just wait. It will. Wait for it to reveal itself to you. Yes this takes a humble patience, but that is the way wisdom comes in the path of the saints. For emphasis he would stop and lead the pondering. His Self Inquiry.

"Pondering, contemplation, are always practiced in peace. Love. Surrender. Humility." Robert Adams

I asked Robert Adams if there was a contradiction in the essence of Vedanta and my way of the contemplation of the saints. He only spoke of  the wisdom of the saints in the Catholic books I was reading as being possible for me. As if he was ‘peering into my soul. This was experienced by many. That is what I was secretly thinking. He never tried to demean it or sway me to the Vedanta orientation. So I began to do some of his suggestions. I have never been with real peace and purity with the many priests and spiritual advisors I have encountered, in my career or getting counseling. What I got from attending Robert Adams talks and then reading his teachings was a new depth of understanding the word ‘contemplation’. Pondering.

I had never felt capable. It was interesting, but I generally felt the faster and more I read bios the more I would get it. So in the end it was pondering and contemplation that awakened in me, exactly the path I was on, that I had pursued, and read about, but I never really did until I met Robert Adams.
Today, through the Robert Adams Institute classes, I have come across his original feeling of peace I had forgotten.  I continue on the path of adding contemplation and choosing pondering as my go- to of instant peace. But I do it completely differently than before I received advice from Robert Adams. He WAS the peace I pondered. Without the veil of being ‘different’ in superiority,  clearly there was the sense of a beautiful dove landing upon a dark field.

I continued asking for guidance in my reading.. I listened to the All is Well pondering and then opened my precious retreat books. I was immediately lead to paragraphs speaking only on pondering and contemplation! This synchronicity always occurred at his talks. I felt that familiar clean clarity. When you are receiving truth you know it.
St. Teresa. I read her since high school. Robert Adams says you have to want God with all your heart. This is how I feel with her. Sometimes I read the Robert Adams Illumination booklet and then cross over to St. Teresa. Then back again.

“The particular aspect …. that must be present in any person called to Carmel is that of an inclination to meditate in the heart. All the other aspects of Marian life and devotion can be present….they are however, secondary to this aspect of  Marian Devotion."
I had been doing the Robert Adams Sage in the Heart Meditation with Christ as his main method for years!
“Meditate on the Heart. The Heart Center.” Robert Adams says.
“ Practice The sage in the Heart Meditation”
Was he somehow guiding me now? He always refers to ‘the sincere aspirant’.

“Entering within’ is the means by which we find Christ in prayer.”  St. Teresa. My experience of Robert Adams teaching is that everything is within you. That is, in another dimension reached by rising.
“Within you is everything you have been looking for.”
This was the Robert Adams talks I had attended. This soft, clear pathway to an interior heaven.

Then there is his emphasis on both not letting the mind go totally 'crazy' with everything that occurs to it, but guiding and uplifting it as you completely transcend it. That was too far above me until I came across this:
‘Recollection as the cure for the distracted mind.’ by Saint Teresa of Avila

Together with Saint Teresa  I got new union of wisdoms that was returning me to my old background. I got enthusiasm. Yes this was real when I washed dishes and walked and also volunteered in church.

“ He granted me the prayer of quiet.” Saint Teresa

Any nagging doubts I had on the harmony of the two paths, had been dissolved in the power of their truths. This seemed aimed at me. The emphasis on the intellect becoming 'simplified' was of the same point as Robert Adams.
In the saints, I encountered the  “sleep of the faculties” where it all becomes experiential. Her emphasis on the internalization of the entire experience mentions 'stillness' that is natural and uncontrived. That is where we all go who taste this teaching;

“You have to experience it for yourself. I can show you where the vein of gold is but you must dig for yourself. You have asked me to share my experience with you. Try it and see if it works for you. You will experience the fruit of your efforts. It is all up to you. You must have  your own experience.” Robert Adams

I am hoping my sharing of the compatibility of the writings of Saint Teresa with the emphasis on contemplation and pondering, will offer companionship for anyone raised in this great tradition or has found a new dimension in their experience with Robert Adams teaching. To simply sit and contemplate both alternately, completes my deepest soul.

Thank you.

The Happiness Talks

Robert Adams thirty years of Dialogues includes a great emphasis on "Happiness is the substratum of your existence." The in- depth experiential directives include 'How to Live".

Q: Is it better to accept everything that happens in this world as Gods Will or to protest?

R: Happiness does not imply that you ignore others suffering. Quite the contrary. When you have a true realization of the bliss, the love of God, deep in your heart, you feel others suffering as your own. There is no separation. Therefore, you naturally wish to alleviate the suffering of others.  You may choose to take actions to show compassion. Yet you retain peace in your heart.

Be like the Buddhists who protest experimentation on animals. Animals cannot speak for themselves. So, the monks march for hours to protest. Yet they maintain a peace within. If you protest, do not cultivate hate. There have been many evolved ones, saints and sages, who protest injustice. Yet deep within, they remain in supreme love. It is not Gods Will for people to hurt others, to hurt animals, to participate in vile activities. This is man’s free will. Therefore, you become a living conduit for loving kindness in this world, for that is the nature of your true Self.

Q: I know so many students who gather together to discuss this stuff and meditate but they are known to be 'jerks' in the way they talk to others and behave. Is this my business?

R: If it is brought into your life, if you are observing others being abused, it behooves you to peacefully intercede in removing that person or protecting another. It is your business to note these things in yourself, and insure that you will not succumb to this falsity. The two cannot coincide. You must take yourself in hand and see God in each person. There is a difference between quoting wisdom and living it. You must be very honest with yourself. The Lords of Karma, God, sees all. If your heart is surrendered to God, this will not be hard.

The Morning Meditations to Music

"Always begin your meditations upon awakening. You can do the Sage in the Heart meditation to peaceful music if you wish. You can do the I AM Meditation, inquiry to peaceful music. This opens the heart. Do this when you feel upset. When doing compassionate inquiry, never forget the love. Without the love, you cannot progress." Robert Adams

"You must develop a sense of brotherhood with all of humanity.

Always take care of someone other than yourself. Do not isolate yourself from humanity. Unless you reside within a temple, doing devotions all day, you will become self absorbed. Selfish. The mind becomes focused only on you. This is why you must go out of your way regularly for others. Alleviate the suffering of others in practical ways. The idea is not to cut yourself off from others, but to love them more in the human embodiment, as a vehicle of loving kindness. Many people live alone and believe that they are spiritually progressing because they are not involved with others. This is the mind focused only on itself. When you open your heart, you experience the heart of God. This is the Self."

True Love Is Eternal

True love is eternal. True love never changes.
The world changes. People change. The seasons change. Appearances change. Although this outwardly appears to be temporal, when we look deeply, we see the unchanging Supreme. Omniscient love. A great benevolence, all -permeating joy, upon which all else, all change, is a superimposition.

Eternal life.

Life always renews itself, for life is eternal. Unchanging. Infinite. All of life originates from this infinite unchanging Omniscient divine love. Therefore, since this eternal love is within us, as us, our true Self, when we love another with this love, this is true love. And true love never changes. -Robert Adams

The realities of intercessory Grace and Compassion within the foundational karmic imprints featured in our personal life experience; relationships, environments, inherent overt blessings.

"For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Corinthians

A complimentary gift for the New Year. Enjoy Robert Adams extemporaneous Dialogue on this topic in contemporary clarity and precision. A beloved favorite of students worldwide, featured in orthodox spirituals traditions, U.S. spiritual communities, valued in personal spiritual introspection, this full- spectrum, easy to digest, touching explanation of the foundation of our earthly lives is life transformative in its freedom. The opportunities for compassionate intercession, humble, wise understanding in order to 'cease creating complex repercussions,' are all anchored in compassion.

Why are we here? Why did this happen to me? Why am I with this person? Do we really reap what we sow? How does that work exactly in my everyday life, career, family, relationships? In a clear, concise and contemporary illustration, Robert Adams explains the in-depth intricacies of the universal laws of compassion, Grace, and the karmic foundations of our life terrain in relation to a deep understanding of our personal path. " All true religions teach this Truth." "The law of grace and compassion can intercede karmas. You are here because of karma. It behooves you not to create anymore. Never tell anyone 'that is your karma', instead, ask what you can do to help. Compassion is the greatest truth." Robert Adams

This anciently revered life law is traditionally not limited to belief in long- coming obscure return of lessons to learn compassion, (the word 'karma' being associated with Eastern tradition only) but supplies a rare understanding of the deeper content and narrative in our own lives here and now, freeing us from being confused recipients, to purposely making beneficial decisions.

"Peacemakers who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness." James

Significantly emphasized within Biblical and other world scriptures, the universal laws of self creation in our own direct experience according to reverence for the laws of compassion- the foundation of reaping what is sown- as a seed reaps a specific fruit, offers a beautiful opportunity to recreate our daily experience anew each morning by sowing that which is 'conducive to harmony, peace."

"Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Proverbs

How Our Human Alignment

Inner Illumination

The Basic Foundations of a Spiritual Life: Questions and Answers with Beloved Sage Robert Adams

Q: Robert, you never comment on other paths other than last week stating Jesus is the master of compassion, that is a path to illumination. What do you feel about things out there such as local tantric yoga...(inquirer mentions names of groups and teachers) :

A: Robert Adams: I do not discuss such things. These things have absolutely nothing to do with this Teaching. If you are attracted to such things, then this path is not your path. I do not teach of the flesh. This is a teaching of the heart. Of service to others, rising to a higher reality. One of your true nature, love, compassion and humility. There are all kinds of cults and vile interpretations of Truth. The question is: who are you and what Teaching are you following? There are people who say it does not matter if you torture animals and eat them, yet when you know this is wrong, you are transgressing the laws of compassion. Creating karmas. Similarly, when you are pre- ordained to come upon the Yamas and Niyamas, the laws of correct living, and you get involved in all sorts of crazy things with the body, many relationships, you become a part of that level of consciousness. You are pulled down by these things, because they are not of Absolute Reality, your eternal Self which ever abides in loving kindness, purity, joy, putting others before yourself, rising above such things. You want to transcend such things, not activate them. Your character naturally becomes a vessel of gentle surrender to God, clean living, holiness. (* See "Why Worshipping God is Good")

Therefore, I have nothing to do with such things. You have asked me to share my experience with you. There are all sorts of crazy things out there that having nothing to do with true spiritual progression. Pursuing the senses will not get you there. That is this Teaching. That is why I said last week that the mother who nurtures her children and cares for others her whole life or the doctors who truly loves and helps others but are not involved in any formal spiritual path, are evolving quicker than those who talk about spirituality and do not follow spiritual laws. The Golden Rule. Self restraint. Grace. Humility. Lead as pure a life as possible. Do not become involved in mixing all of these different interpretations and paths together for you will receive the fruits of none. Try to stay around the innocent, good people of this world. Strive for holiness." Robert Adams- Happiness This Moment Talks

The Foundation: "Trust in the Supremacy of Goodness. Follow the Golden Rule. The Yamas and Niyamas."

Lesson Student Letter: My fiance is 'all over the place' with sections of teachings he extracts from who knows where. He often refers to the word Advaita which appears to include anyone who uses it. I like that Robert Adams said he teaches the compassionate heart of this. I tend to follow my upbringing of right and wrong, and the values of my family. He says I need to expand this. There are so many interpretations. Robert Adams speaks so kindly, what are his views on this?

Robert Adams teaches the classic Vedic, similar to and often with Christian, moral and ethical foundational principles in a vibrant, philanthropic and contemporary loving family life from his own experiences. Robert Adams responded to versions that extract the spiritual foundations of this wisdom with the words "Quite the contrary. You must be a good person first. You must follow the virtues of loyalty, selflessness, dedication to caring for others."

The Teaching of Robert Adams is unrelated, unaffiliated and contrary to many publications and teachers, 'neo-advaitsts' in which 'anything goes', as he mentions in over seventeen Discourses. Robert Adams is the only Teacher confirmed personally by a world revered saint, featured in the classic vintage movie Ramana Maharshi, and introduced this path in his experience to the West prior to any general exposure in such arenas. His genteel, light hearted yet stunning perceptive wholesomeness and protectiveness towards women, children and a clean lifestyle is documented by students to include leaving violent or explicit films, denouncing drugs, cults, etc. Below is a detailed sharing of such.

gh

FOUNDATIONS OF A SPIRITUAL LIFE

Student: What do I need to do to get the fastest progression? It doesn't matter how I live if I am doing meditation or self-inquiry, right? How much importance do you place on the 'so called' rules of religion with illumination, like in relationships, the body, etc.?

Robert: "It is entirely up to you to do the things that speed your progression in realizing your true nature, in experiencing God. Nirvana. Heavenly Bliss. Sat Chit Ananda. However you must do certain things. Give up certain things. You must give up your bad habits that keep you in body consciousness-that holds you back from realizing your true Self in Truth. You cannot let the body do whatever it wants to do. You must live by the laws of the Self.

Student: OK, so what do I have to do to get to Nirvana today? (Laughter from the audience)

Robert: 'You don't have to do anything, ("You, as a human being on the other hand, must master yourself.") You are the Self right now. You just don't realize it because your consciousness is limited to everything external. The senses tell you what to do. All the Saints and Sages you admire lived by the holy laws not because they had to do it, but because they were honest at some point about their humanity and what they needed to do to master the body in order to live a holy life. To live by The Golden Rule. There are golden rules in every True Religion. They all say basically the same thing. As I say, the Saints did their homework. Have you done your homework? (laughter)

In ancient wisdom, there are the Yamas and Niyamas. Follow This." Robert Adams

"Make all decisions reflective of God, the divine Self, which is Goodness, Purity, Peace. Do not be like the man who said "I am consciousness so it does not matter what I do", so he went to see pornographic movies!" This is not a teaching of the flesh or the senses which lead to chaos and confusion. This is not the way. This pulls one down to the pull of the earth and on-going karmas. We wish to rise to a higher vision, to unimaginable beauty within that does not fade. Remove yourself from the vile things of this world and become a living conduit of peace, love, harmony." Robert Adams - Silence of the Heart Garden Talks.

“Cling to the Yamas and Niyamas. This will bring grace. Suffering will subside. You will stop incoming chaotic repercussions. Right action will take place in your life. Peace will ensue."

" It is imperative to observe that all of your decisions are in alignment with your True Self. The ever conscious, ever blissful, omnipresent Self. God within you. The Supremacy of Goodness. All decisions create incoming repercussion for this is a compassionate universe. Therefore you must master your body in order to to be aligned with your True Self to make your best decisions. This alleviates karmas. You wish to attain the heights of happiness. Bliss. Therefore you must give up your bad habits, anger, greed, resentment, revenge, harming others.

The Body Knows How to Assimilate, But You Must Choose Correctly. Happiness Ensues

The body knows how to digest, assimilate nutrients on its own. Yet you have to choose the correct foods. It is all up to you. In the same way, when you choose to rise through deep and regular practice that enables you to easily identify with the Self rather than the body, happiness ensues. For you are on a higher plane so to speak than this earth. It is a gentle, interior realization. You are no longer attracted to many relationships, drugs, and so on. For you have found the vein of gold. All true religions explain this. From the Bible to the Vedas. This alleviates suffering. It is a gentle awakening." Robert Adams

Student: Are you saying there are higher and lower energies?

Robert: For want of a better word. If you perform actions of the flesh, you are of the consciousness of the flesh. If you rise to the Bliss of holiness, you are of the Consciousness of Truth. It is very simple, natural. Align yourself with the higher things of this world, purity, for this is your true nature. Be gentle and benevolent.

Enjoy the Universal Laws of happiness, in 'The Splendor and the Glory" guiding one towards the happiness, peace that does not disappear, is eternal. These ancient guidelines enhance an environment "conducive to progression", helping one in the practices of meditation, self inquiry, "rising to a higher vision" of joyful living. Beloved Robert Adams is the sole American revered globally for his humble, quiet honoring of the classic Vedic wisdoms through his own natural gentility rather than lecture.

THE IMPORTANCE OF 'AHIMSA': NON-HARM TO ALL ANIMALS. A NON VIOLENT DIET FOR HAPPINESS AND HEALTH

S: Robert, is there a reason why you are a vegetarian? Does it have a practical benefit in your practice?
Robert Adams: There are so many ways to explain that. When I was about thirteen years old, I had eaten meat until that time. And then one day my mom gave me a steak, and I just blurted out, "I don't eat dead flesh." And I've never eaten it since.
Now if you are in the body, and you believe you are the body, you have to look at the moral reasons. What right do we have to kill these thousands of cows and pigs and chickens, so we can stuff our face with dead flesh? Think about that.

fd
Right now there are cows standing in line to get killed. {hamburger chain} alone uses millions of cows a year. All these cows are grown and they put them in a feedlot, and torture them with all kinds of antibiotics, and then slaughter them, so we can eat them.
Morally it does not seem right. It has been proven that a pig is 'smarter' than a dog. It makes a better 'pet'. Would you like to see your dog or your cat slaughtered and people eating them? You have preference. All animals are the same. On one level, the reason the world is degenerating is because of what we are doing to all of the animals and the earth. But that is on one level. So you have to take it for what it is worth.

Questions and Answers for

Life Guidance

When we go beyond the superficial in 'seeking; to surrender to a true transformation within by The Supreme, God, in gentle precision and application of the ways of Truth, each word, phrase, and topic reveals a completely new layer of meaning to our hearts. Here, we can dip a little deeper into the accuracy and clarification of Robert Adams most utilized terms and topics within the context of his question and answer sessions amid audience and student questioners. In a clear, often humorous sharing of his own personal experience in the classic tradition of spiritual illumination as honored 'by all true religions' this modern American sage offers an upraised path of peace and purity amid modern complexities, and corrects pop term generalizations to achieve direct responses within.

“Most Westerners have difficulty comprehending the true meaning of these words, for they do not understand the origin. The foundation. They have not had a personal, direct experience of the bliss. The love. The compassion. It is all head knowledge. Therefore, the mind or ego grasps the words for the little self; memorizing spiritual words, self -aggrandizement, pronouncement of ones spiritual head knowledge to others, and so on. It inflates the sense of personal ‘I’ rather than reducing it. It behooves you to simply go within until this becomes your personal experience. One who knows has no desire to pronounce that they know to others. Their love, their humility, their compassion for others emanates to all. Their actions emanate this love.”
Robert Adams

The Silence "The Silence and Happiness. They are the same. Being quiet is not The Silence." Robert Adams

Q: “Should I spend a lot of time in silence literally? Do I meditate in this time?  I have a job and family.”

Robert: Being quiet is not the same as being in The Silence. This is very important. Do not mistake being quiet for The Silence. As you know, there are many people who are very quiet, who are some of the meanest people you will ever meet. They are always telling other people to be quiet! (laughter) They want their house to be quiet, their children to be quiet. Their husband or wife to be quiet. But where is their mind? Where is their heart? Where is God? The Silence is the Presence of God. It is an interior realization. Therefore, when you are in The Silence, there is no separation-You, the real You, are the love. The compassion, the bliss, the happiness. The harmony. There is no separate ‘you’, for you have returned to your Self. Your divine Self.

Sometimes when we are pondering these things, the birds begin singing very joyfully outside. Many come and they all sing together. Sometimes someone wants to shut the window. To make them be quiet. Of course, if you were in The Silence, you would feel the joy of the birds singing. This would be a source of great bliss. There would be no separation.

Questions on Discernment of Teachers

Q: I have a question about teachers. I went to India and there is a very popular teacher who has a community and he is usually peaceful but about once a month he suddenly screams at people and is verbally abusive. He goes at peoples flaws and just picks on them in a rage. Then he says it is just Shiva working through him and if they are afraid of Shiva they cannot grow spiritually. What do you think of that?

Robert: I do not discuss other teachers.

Q: But do you think this method is OK, I mean of course it is hard to accept…it feels wrong..

Robert: No one who has been touched by God, The Supreme, would be attracted to rage, insulting people, having a temper. They would have absolutely no desire to participate in such things. This is cult nonsense, craziness. A true teacher has no desire to teach by hurting, insulting. Abusing people. They no longer have such things inside of them. Such things would never occur to them. That is kindergarten. Therefore, one chooses environments conducive to unfoldment. Environments of peace. Loving kindness. In order to unfold, one masters their humanity.

Q: But what about Shiva? (A spiritual tradition of the East)

Robert: It seems there are a lot of people saying they are Shiva! (laughter) Someone else who came from a visit to India to see a Western teacher asked me about this.  Of course, when you speak of rages, tempers, this is simply a rationalization to behave badly. This has absolutely nothing to do with Shiva. Nothing at all. Shiva does not need us to hurt one another. To be angry. This is the human mind rationalizing craziness. Do not worry about Shiva. Shiva does not need your help. Focus on your own unfoldment. Be honest with yourself. Anger is the first thing to go on the spiritual path. Tempers, rage, meanness. You feel injustice, compassion for others- you guide others if they ask, yet you act in accordance with the laws of peace.

b

Your heart, your true Self knows the truth. One who has been touched by God is not attracted to such things. A sincere spiritual aspirant knows. This (verbal abuse) is not the Way. One does not condone such things. One speaks the Truth in accordance with spiritual laws.  Now. You will attract the environment of you own consciousness. If you were raised around such things, vile words, anger seems normal to you. If you have samskaras of tempers, anger, rage, you will accept such environments until you yourself transcend this behavior. To one who has no qualities of anger, abuse, who has surrendered such things, such environments are naturally unacceptable to them. They have no attraction to such things. One offers Truth in peace. Therefore, if one is in abusive environments, one leaves or peacefully requests the angry person to leave. Your true Self has no attraction to such things.

Q: Thank you. That is what I originally felt. But then many people said this was my ego…

Robert: Forget about using the word ‘ego’ and ask “How can I become more peaceful? Full of loving kindness? Pure? ” Your true Self reflects only harmony, peace, love. You are not a doormat. You can discern that which is not of Truth. You do not simply accept vile behavior. You take refuge in the Truth. You will attract different environments.

Q: In traditional religion, the word ‘pure’ means different things. How do you define this?

Robert: All of the qualities of the Self, God are pure. Eternal. Unchanging. This is why I say I am calling you to a higher vision. The physical realm pulls you into self-absorption.  ‘What is in it for me? What feels good for me?” The Truth is already in ecstatic bliss consciousness, abiding omniscient love. Unchanging peace. But you must do the work to experience this. This is why true religions, illumined awareness, explain that living purely, unselfishly, mastering the human self, is of great merit. That which you choose becomes your master.

v

Q: How do ‘rules’ or do’s and don'ts of religions affect illumination like the conservative laws of the yamas and niyamas in relationships? Why does that matter to be pure in the end result?

Robert: If you indulge in all sorts of temporary relationships, activities, exploit others, you identify with this (physical) awareness. You become entirely enslaved in the physical delusion of chasing mirages. This has a pull. It affects your consciousness. So of course these traditions help you to refrain from involving yourself in such things, creating karmas. You become pure. If you keep your heart pure, your actions pure, you trust in the supremacy of goodness, then you become this Truth. So purity is God. The Supreme. The Self. Cling to this as much as possible. No matter what has occurred in the past, if you choose this now, everything will change for the better. The pull of this world, vile activities, is very strong. Choose to be around pure things. Environments. Animals, children, laughter, nature. You must be very honest with yourself. You can be in a beautiful, quiet ashram, be very quiet, and be the meanest person. Full of vile thoughts, gossip, mean actions. It is an interior choice. You can work in a big company, be kind to people, take care of your family, and do deep sadhana (practices) and you are ahead of the person in the ashram. Purity is in your heart. Your true motivations. The heart of God sees all.

Q: You take a traditional stance in line with ancient scriptures on life, drugs, and activities, but I was wondering why so many American teachers skip this and simply accept all behaviors. I know it makes for a wider audience but Patanjali and the Yamas emphasize negative effects or so I read of omitting this aspect. Also it is difficult to find spiritual association in the West that is not conjoined to the post sixties drug-indulgence combining with true spirituality other than in ashrams…

Robert: If you are a sincere aspirant you will be guided to the pure Truth. No one who is illumined will tell you to take drugs. This has nothing to do with true awakening. With finding God. Realizing God. This is a mind/head game of breaking into different 'spheres' for want of a better word, out of selfishness. You will lose attraction for such things. This holds no attraction to the sincere aspirant. Unfoldment is a natural, gracious realization. What is to be revealed will come naturally. As each petal unfolds a new awakening emerges. This must be done by your human adherence to surrender. To laws of correct living.

Q: You said that the intellectualization of spirituality is dangerous. Can you elaborate on this?

Robert: Yes. We were referring last week to the dry head knowledge. Of course, this is useless. You can memorize hundreds of scriptural quotes, theology, historical information. But if you have no direct experience of God you are simply in your own mind. If you have no humility, a warm heart, sincerity, loving kindness, you are fooling yourself. We must be very honest with ourselves.

There are many people going around saying nothing is real, everything is illusion, they are nothing, just enter the void. It is very funny. If they really understood, through their experience of the Self as I have shown you through the practices, they would have no desire to pronounce this. To seek recognition. Who is saying this if they are nothing? The void is not Realization. You don’t want just to enter the void and stop there. You want to still the mind and awaken to the truth of the realization of the truth of your eternal existence, Sat Chit Ananda, ever conscious bliss awareness. Be who You really are, full of loving kindness, compassion, benevolence, humility.

“No thing” simply means no thing that is temporal. With just a little head knowledge people want to become teachers.  This is why we say the kind person is already progressing more than the person with years of so called spiritual knowledge. For he is manifesting his true nature already. Those with no heart are simply creating samskaras, karmas, for nothing is hidden from the Lords of Karma.

Q: The bandharas and all of the celebrations you have are very festive. Joyful. I know this is the tradition, and there is the simplistic tradition...which is more beneficial?

R: No difference. It is all in your heart. Many paths celebrate with great happiness, decorations, gatherings. It is a joyful emanation of the Self. Or you may be a monk who has taken vows of poverty, solitude, and that is your path. The most important thing is to ask your self, where is your heart? For that is where you will find God. Always return to the Heart Center.
